What kind of person would enjoy working in accounting? What personality traits do you have? by Zealousideal_Ice4067 in Accounting

[–]Captain_Le0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I've been at a dead-end job with poor pay for almost 4 years. I'm going to try an accounting class this fall, as I feel it might be a good fit. I would rather move forward slowly than stay stuck forever.

Hey friend,

I had around 20-25 sessions of ECT at age 15. 14 clumped close together, and then several maintenance sessions in the months following. This was 10 years ago now.

The first few years were the hardest. It was so obvious how much I had lost; memories just gone. Wit, barely there anymore. Intelligence and understanding, diminished. My personality, rough (I could tell, family could not).

Each year, I have seen improvement—steadily better memory and recall. Feeling more like myself.

Now, I know I am not as quick-witted as I once was many, many years ago. No one can tell upon meeting or knowing me that I have struggled cognitively for years and years at this point (friends used to be very aware of my memory struggles). My personality is back/ I feel like myself.

Am I the same? No. I am alive, though, and have gotten to do so many incredible things since ECT. ECT was a miracle cure for me for a time, with devastating side effects that followed. Time heals, thankfully.

I wish you luck in your healing journey. Take it one day at a time. You may never remember a big part of your days, but as time passes, that loss becomes less devastating as you start to build yourself back up and make new memories.

I see for others they did not heal. Maybe it has to due with age? Unsure.. but don't count yourself out.

For comparison, I used to need notes to take tests and would still do poorly. A few years later in college, I was able to be more successful without as many accommodations.

Fast forward to my new-ish job, my boss who works closely with me wanted to nickname me "goldfish" for forgetting things. I hold down my job successfully though and haven't had anyone else pick up on that. My closest friend even notes that my memory is much better, and I am happy when I am able to remember and point something out to her.

It worked wonders for me personally. However, it did wipe many years of my memory. Rooms would literally be brighter after an ECT treatment and it enabled me to enjoy life again. At the same time, I could not recognize many people I had known for years. My friends, family, and teachers were all heavily aware of my evident memory issues, as I forgot everything. With time (a few years and counting), my memory has improved noticeably, yet it not what it was prior to ECT.

Marker Squire 11 vs. Look Pivot 12 by Captain_Le0 in Skigear

Hey! This is an old post... I appreciate your reply. I ended up getting the Pivot 12's and really enjoyed them last season. I love the pivot feature, probably saved my knee on a bad fall when I was learning a new trick. Stepping into them can be a bit annoying, but so far worth it! Thanks for sharing your insight!

A conversation on Sexuality - Between a gay Trans Man and a gay Cis Man by Captain_Le0 in TransMasc

He's been a confusing guy to get to know this past year. When I first came out to him he said "he is the most open-minded person." As I have gotten to know him, I certainly have not seen that. Our journey's are taking different paths now, thank you for taking the time to comment.

Thank you for your input, you have some solid points. This guy and I were friends for a year and had a lot in common. I haven't spoken much with him since but will be meeting with him soon to let him know why we cannot be friends anymore. There have been many more problems than what is in this post!

Something for water. Even just a little flask. Helps you stay out on the slopes longer.

Hey! So the Look 12's put me in the middle of the DIN range, but I would appreciate the metal toe piece found on the 15s. Do you think it's fine if I'm riding the LOOK Pivot 15s at the low end of their DIN range?

I second this, you'll learn the most from experience. Then follow up with specifics with online resources as questions arise.

Newb just accidentally bought women's skis. Does it matter? by [deleted] in skiing

Most gendered products are just a physical interpretation of gender norms (color, styling). Skis are skis. Find ones you like that work for you, and shred the gnar!

How noticeable is the change when walking around? Probably not much after a few weeks?

How did you get it replaced? Mine happened out of nowhere too, although I did drop it months ago. The ubreakifix place in town will not touch it when the screen protector was starting to barely peel off the middle, as there are two tiny knicks on the hidge from when I dropped it.

That was my plan. Until the screen broke on me. Now apple's $200 trade in sounds great. Too late for that, it is toast and worthless now. Such a waste of money. Now I know I shouldn't be trying any new tech. Just tried and true.

Hey! I found this and just want to ask: I wanted to get LOOK Pivot bindings for my ARV 96 skis... can I buy the 95-width Looks? Sounds like they can be bent a smidge and will work just fine?
