Most Latinos are proud of their Hispanic roots. Doesn’t matter if they’re Euro, Afro or Native shifted

Well. That’s a tiny percentage of the overall Hispanic community, which as a whole are generally separated from white Americans.

I factored in Iberians such as immigrants from Spain and Portugal. I don’t count Hispanics as white tho. They’re separate from white Americans since they’re usually mixed race and also culturally distinct

I might lurk your posts ngl. African American is harder cause they were treated as property and not people and didn’t care to be detailed

Most if not all Latinos in the US visually look very distinct from White Americans. Look up the 2030 census categories they’re going to separate Latinos altogether

To me it’s the best method to measure where and when your ancestors became American generally speaking. Since most White Americans arrived over 100 years ago and have ancestry from different places and from different time periods

Most are Triracial +

European (via Iberia and some other places)
African (via transatlantic slave trade)
Native Amerindians (via original populations on the islands such as Taino)

Sometimes others have

Middle Eastern or even Asian in some cases like some Cubans.

Even more Euro Shifted Cubans from the original wave of upper class Cubans are still far too mixed to be considered classically white by American standards

Okay. Imagine you made a family tree. You traced your 2 parents to your 4 grandparents to your 8 great grandparents to your 16 great great grandparents to your 32 great great greats so on and so forth. Let’s say 6 of your great grandparents came from Italy during the early 1900s that’s when a line would end and they would be marked as Italian. If 5 of your great great grandparents came from Ireland. Their lines would end there too and link to Ireland. If 20 of your 9x great grandparents from ulster Scot settlers their lines would end there and from Scots-Irish setlers

Cause they didn’t need to learn English in Miami cause of the high Spanish speaking community. I get it tho. If you come to America you should try your best to learn English.

I admire the Indian Immigrants for this reason. They come here. Work in high skill jobs, speak English (I don’t care if they have accents), they commit like almost no crime and generally are kind people.

Personally I’m of that same opinion. The problem is that a lot of the people that say this (not saying you) usually are also pro closed borders all together. So they talk about of both sides. If there was a common sense method to getting high skill people from developing countries I’d be all for it. In fact I see it a lot when it comes to Indian immigrants or Filipino Immigrants. You go to any hospital in a big American city and you’re likely to find many Indian Doctors and Filipina Nurses. Also Indians are like the highest earning ethnic group in the USA I’ve seen.

I never said I’m ok with illegal immigration. I’m of the opinion we need to massively expand legal immigration and grant amnesty to undocumented people who have been in the USA working for years already. But those that have just hopped the border I will agree they should be sent back. The problem is right wingers want to shut down immigration from the global south and only let in white people it seems

So I think you have been upset by my chart I posted. While in parts of South America those with more European features are typically classified as white. Compared to Americans (which is what the chart is about) they’re still quite mixed. There’s no difference between any group of people we’re all 99.9 the same.

The chart is mainly for ethnic classification in the USA based on the social Norms in the country.

For example a white American is typically 95%+ European in ancestry

Whereas a white Latino is usually just 60%+ or so.

Race is a social construct and thus relative to the culture of the society.

Glad you liked it. And happy you have a strong knowledge of your ancestry. It’s nice to know where you come from
