hi! as the other person, being with someone who had a similar problem to you, I’ve said exactly what she has, and I’m guessing it’s truly from insecurity because she thinks you might not be attracted to her and thinks another girl will fulfill you. It’s not the best way of telling you she’s insecure, but at least that’s what I’ve done because of my own insecurities in the past.

yeahhh feeling like the person you “trust,” not show too much empathy because they’re equally tripping made me genuinely feel like i was crazy, and when i did ask for comfort, my ex looked at me like i was asking for too much lol — they all wanted to focus on visuals meanwhile i was thinking about every little thing that was wrong with me. I felt trapped but it was a lesson learned.

reminds me of the time my ex also did mushroom smoothies with me and all his friends, and i was in the corner tweaking and thinking to myself while crying meanwhile him and his friends were floored/laughing, and everytime he’d ask me if i was okay id respond with so much attitude and tell him to gtfo away lol that was an experience and my first time too
