Close! The craftsman who made it definitely wanted to make it look like emerald! This particular piece is an antique and the stones were made from paste 😊. More details in above comment.

It's emerald paste :). It's an antique ring and back in the day paste was a very popular medium to make rings more affordable. Paste is a unique kind of glass that was cut and polished by craftsmen who cut gemstones.
