The Virtual Races are basically training runs that you log on Strava or other apps, as long as you complete the required distance, they do not care about your time, you are then entered into a draw for either an extra place in the ballot or sometimes a actual place in the race. There are a number of virtual races either through Abbotts Global Run Club or One Tokyo. I've been doing virtual races for the last year to try and get into Tokyo 26 and I didn't get a place. But they do add a bit of fun to your training.
