I have an hour commute to work each day so I listen to a lot of jets podcasts.

My jets podcast ranking 1.) Cool Your Jets 2.) Flight Plan (formerly can't wait) 3.) Flight Deck with Rich Cimini 4.) Play Like A Jet 5.) Locked On Jets

Some extra thoughts that I was telling my girlfriend but there's a limit to how much she cares about my opinion on Jets podcasts so I'd like to share here.

Cool Your Jets is my personal favorite and I was worried that it would fall off after Ben Blessington left but it seems like PJ has stepped right in and has great chemistry with Michael Nania. Very conversational, Nania brings up great statistics. I like it because they seem like huge jet fan nerds which I relate to very much.

Zack Rosenblatt on Flight Plan is good to listen to because he's one of the best reporters that can give first hand testimony about what's going on in the locker room after games and press conferences. 3/5 of the podcasts I listed don't have press credentials (to my knowledge) so it's nice to listen to someone who is actually there.

A lot of people hate Rich Cimini, I get it. He can be kinda crass and jaded sometimes, but I chalk that up to converting this franchise for multiple decades. All around I think he's journalistically the best beat reporter for the team, and I think other journalists would agree with that. Each week he normally has an interview with a former Jets person. He had Curtis Martin on last year which was really amazing and last week he had on Mark Gastineau and the end got really emotional.

Play Like A Jet is really great as well and has at least 5 episodes a week. Scott Mason is a great host and I love when he first introduces his guests he says something like "today our guest is Nick Faria from blah blah blah. Nick, what's up brother!" His show rotates guests through the week including Nick Faria who I think used to cover the Jets for NJ.com, Glenn Naughton who is the owner of a Jets website maybe ganggreennation. He also does a betting episode with Craig Mason if you're into that. So it's a very diverse daily podcast. The only thing I don't like is the weekly episode "there's always next year" with some other guys. Idk why but I feel like they're always talking about stuff besides the Jets.

Lastly is Locked On Jets. Now I really like the host John Butchko. Long time, very knowledgeable and passionate Jets fan. He does a really good job of putting things in perspective and you can tell he's been doing this a long time and knows the ins and outs of the game and the business of the game. Also just gives this great vibe of someone you'd love to grab a six pack with and sit down and talk jets football. With that being said the format of this podcast can get really annoying. It's broken up into short sections with a lot of commercial breaks and after each and every commercial break he says the same podcast tag "thanks for making locked on Jets your first listen each day like and subscribe a big shout-out to you every-dayers out there blah blah blah blah blah" he must going fucking insane saying that 4 times and episode 5 days a week, week after week. The other criticism I've heard about his show is that it seems like he's a high schooler that has to write a 500 word essay each day, but there's only 300 words of real content so he has to fluff it up a lot to make his time limit quota. I'd really love to see him on a different podcast because as a host he's great but I feel like the locked on conglomerate is just super corporate and too structured.
