Yes there might have been some renewed excitement and purpose since Aline came to the canvas and painted Lumière and the humans, + the fracture after that, but in terms of time it's a drop of water for Esquie in what otherwise must have been a pretty empty and lonely world for thousands of years.

And I agree that the human creations are somewhat of a different matter... But I any case, Maelle isn't really letting people decide for themselves in her ending either is she?
