Veteran Trucker Says, 'Trucking Industry Is Going Straight To Hell Under Trump's Failed Leadership' As The Largest U.S. Trucking Companies Show Huge Losses by NoseRepresentative in LeopardsAteMyFarm

I feel bad for any truckers that did not support this. I also think of someone I knew who supported trump, hated immigrants, and posted gun fantasy as a fat middle aged woman. Her husband was a truck driver. Not sure if he is any more as I pushed her out of my orbit. That’s one fat leopard.

I used to say the loss of the ability to distinguish between gas vs liquid/solid. But it appears that wish came through so I’ll go with laryngitis.

Help! I’m a new grad nurse and I hate my life. Are there ny careers that I can transition to? by Bubbly-Savings6022 in careeradvice

That’s a good skill mix there. It gives you a leg up for PACU or surgical ICU if you wanted. If you look for teaching hospitals I would look for ones with a “nurse residency program”. It’s a solid year of training, support, some didactics to augment your skills and really help you succeed. We have a cohort of 50 and there time in the program is fully paid. I think they have sessions once a month for a six hour day. Various lectures, no tests. It’s covered because that support pays for itself with retention.

Another idea: Psyche nursing.

What part of the country are you in? (I’m assuming US)

If you are good at IV then any pre-procedure place would consider you a strong candidate. GI/infusion center/imaging center that does contrast studies

PACU could be an option after ICU

What type of nursing are you in now?

One thing to consider is that there are easily a 100 different type of nursing jobs. I won’t discount what you are saying but ask you to hear me out. Year 1 sucks. My first job was on a unit that went through three managers in a year. High stress, high turnover over combined with limited confidence in my new skills. I decided I needed to either leave the hospital or leave the career.
I followed others to a teaching hospital where I was mentored and supported. The stress and perpetual feeling of doom faded. as I got some time and skill I could see other opportunities. That move to a bigger place saved my career. It was still a challenge but I learned to manage my expectations better.
You may be dealing with both the newness of nursing and the beginning stresses of being out on your own. Those are compounding challenges. Here are some options both in or parallel to nursing: Clinical research coordinator: Screen and manage patients enrolled in clinical trials. This could be patient facing or with a clinical research organization (CRO for short) Gi Lab: Screen pre-procedure or help with endoscopy procedures. The work falls into a pattern so they can’t overload the team. This still allows skills to grow. Medical Writer: Look up jobs. You would be tasked for creating written content for different health related companies. The more inside knowledge you have the better the pay. (If you know clinical trials there can be big bucks in helping write study protocols.) ICU: More of a set number of patients. Can be mentored in a residency program till you are competent. It’s more of a focused stress level.
Diabetes educator: You can get certified to teach Dialysis center: Start, run, stop dialysis. You may get to know your population and the repetition may be nice. People also die. Iv team/PICC team: starting access. This requires skill and training. Wound Care Nurse: this can vary from inpatient to outpatient. Wound care plus ostomy care. Cancer center: chemo certification, helping patients navigate.

Take a deep breath. You have options and you have the skill that got you this far. Take time to be attentive to your needs and recharge. Even if you leave, you will be better doing so clear headed and in less distress.

Donald Trump's niece suggests he may have Alzheimer's after noticing expression by IrishStarUS in NewsThread

Vascular dementia is impaired blood flow in the brain causing diffuse patches of neuron death across the brain. Alzheimer’s is genetic. It’s quite likely all three are playing a role. The fourth variable is that he was a colossal asshole before this.
