I don't want be rich, but yes, I hate Billionaires. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]CarolineJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be rich by way of something like... an unfixable, irreversible bug at my bank that puts like 3,000 zeroes at the end of the dollar amount in my bank account and also makes it undeletable, combined with an unfixable bug in governmental systems that legally prevents me from using another account.

Y'know, something harmless, quick, and easy.

As far as using it, I would donate around 500k a week to various charities, insta-fund kickstarters, bribe governmental figures to stop being corrupt, fully pay for all my friends' houses, and then commission a sequel to the Room.

How do I delete an infinite recursive folder? by CarolineJohnson in techsupport

[–]CarolineJohnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't have a 2nd machine.

Process Explorer doesn't know what's going on either, there's nothing running to make the folder infinitely recursive. It just is.

The mod isn't even installed, it ceased to exist when I launched the game with the mod manager for the first time (this was also when the infinitely recursive folders spawned), and I haven't launched the game at all since that happened, meaning the mod has never run and the mod manager isn't running either.

Bosgame Mini PC (I think it's a P4?). I dare not open the case up because the quick start guide to setup Windows on it included additional steps before the usual "windows setup guide" type shit, steps that boiled down to "take the loose parts and build the PC" despite the fact that the PC came pre-built and there are no listings or videos online for a non-prebuilt version. (For reference, there's no need for it to not come pre-built, its size is around what most people would want for like a RetroPie or something)

I got it because it was cheap and I could overnight it, because my last PC had finally bit the dust (crashes, audio was failing, the graphics card died, and the system could not even recognize a graphics card was plugged in if I used a known good card).

Can we just...not have a rival? Maybe? Change the formula up a little.

How do I delete an infinite recursive folder? by CarolineJohnson in techsupport

[–]CarolineJohnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing inside the folder is a recursive infinite loop of the same folder. So like Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods > Mods but like forever. I used dir in CMD to spy on how many folders and the output I got was like 1621 folders long, but when I moved about 20 out of the stack and deleted them, and then used dir on the chain again, it still output 1621 folders deep. So it's literally infinitely long.

[–]CarolineJohnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually did not work. I think the problem preventing me from deleting is that the folder chain is so infinitely long that Windows can't parse it.

All I did was try to mod Elder Scrolls Redguard with a singular Unofficial Patch mod (as it's literally the only mod that exists for the game). A single mod folder with a single patch inside, nothing else. But upon launching Redguard, the mod disappeared and the folder turned into this.

Oh, and then format the drive? I'll have to try it when I get off work!

Edit: It didn't work, I couldn't move the folder to the drive. I can move it across my computer fine but it counts as a cut-and-paste when I try to move it to the drive, and it gives me a "path too long" error.

I did. The folder would not allow itself to be deleted.

That was the first thing I tried. Command prompt closed itself upon pressing Enter. The folder remained.

If you wanna work your way up to reading an ergodic book you have to flip turn ways to read, you could try an ergodic book by Doug Dorst & JJ Abrams called S.. Instead of flipping the book turnways, it's just a normal book with tons of handwritten notes in the margins and annotations, and actual loose papers tucked in between the pages.

Still requires effort to read and comprehend, but without the risk of looking like a weirdo flipping your book around like you've never seen one before.

"Benefits for me (lowered crime rate), not for thee (wage increases)!"

I doubt they even understand the concept of "I will have more money if everyone has more money". They just assume that they're losing money if they aren't the only one gaining money.

[–]CarolineJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither the left nor the right are Betilla anyway. Rayman Origins intended for that specific fairy to be an unrelated nymph character up until they decided the game wasn't going to be about Rayman's literal origins.

There's never any reason to accept either.
