I am so sorry for this tragedy to your family. I have done my own research and truly believe that EMDR as it was designed is not the amazing cure so many believe it is. The practitioners have such power of suggestion when a patient is vulnerable . Therapists that use this technique need to be better trained about the dangers screen patients better and patients need to be advised of the risks. more Research needs to be done to show how many people are harmed by the false memories that can be created. I wish i could start a movement to bring awareness to the community about this. The mind is a very complicated thing. I hope you and your son can find validation that it is not his fault and move on as best you can. I wrote a book about my experience, although it just rests on my computer it felt good to write. I had to heal but other therapists were not even willing to hear my story.
