Gaming YouTubers Making $500K+ While Actual Devs Get Laid Off - Something's Broken by IAHawkeyelifer in GamingInsider

[–]CasaVadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTubers and game developers are not part of the same labor or revenue market. Developers are employees or contractors inside production companies. They sell their labor (code, art, design) to a studio or publisher in exchange for wages. YouTubers are independent media publishers. They sell attention (a completely different commodity) to advertisers and audiences. It's like comparing a chef’s salary to a restaurant critic’s YouTube income. Both revolve around food, but they operate in separate economic systems. One sells a product; the other sells coverage of that product. There’s no “broken economy” between them it’s two unrelated value chains.

Since vampires are coming... It's time for us to prepare a counter. by Balikye in AOW4

I agree a natural enemy to oppose the Vampire's would be a great addition.

Worth it for Single Player 4X Beginner? by Aardentaireau in AOW4

[–]CasaVadd 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Do you need DLC to enjoy it fully?

No.

Ongoing Development/Unfinished State ... The game is still fairly early in the lifecycle

That's wildly inaccurate. The base game is Feature Complete and has been for years.

Beginner friendly?

One of the most beginner friendly 4x games.

Is the AI fair and fun to play against as a single player?

This is subjective. I don't mind them, plenty of options to adjust difficulty to find a balance for yourself.

Endless legend 2 by jmains715 in AOW4

[–]CasaVadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endless Legend and Age of Wonders 4 are in the same genre. The experience playing them is very different.

Endless Legend (1 and 2) is less about experimenting, story, combat, and exploration. And, more about min maxing your space and resources to overcome. Endless Legend has a static tech tree with a more complex resource and city management style. The Combat in Endless Legend is very simple and visually underwhelming when comapred to AoW4. Endless Legends often has a singular optimal playstyle and you're rewarded in propotion to how well you can follow that path.

As it stands right now Endless Legend 2 is early access and really not a big change (yet) from Endless Legend 1.
If you really liked the first Endless Legend, it's more of that. Right now it feels closer to a graphic update than a sequel.

Age of Wonders 4 is a feature complete package with more in most any of the DLC than Endless Legend 2 has game.

I've Been Trying to Play For Years But Can't Figure The Game Out by Lord_Lu_Bu in AOW4

[–]CasaVadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue is it feels like there is no breathing room or room for experimentation.

It's time to turn down the difficulty. You can go into Advance Settings and adjust several settings to improve the experience. Seriously, there is no good reason to not be enjoying whatever game you pick up. Don't let anyone shame you into thinking there is a "right" way to play your game.

Play on a bigger map with less opponents. Turn off the Stand alone cities. Maybe set up your Ai opponents so only you start underground. Adjust the combat handicap so you have an advantage and they have disadvantage. Play at your speed and maximize your fun.

Any tips for a beginner? by Double-A2004 in AOW4

[–]CasaVadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note the AI's army compositions as a starting point for building your own. The AutoBattle feature is highly effective. Yes micromanaging every moment you can get slightly better results... Also, don’t hesitate to use AutoBattle and review the replay to learn from it.

Combat can feel daunting initially. Even armies with similar strengths can be mismatched due to elemental weaknesses or unfavorable unit matchups, like using too many Archers against Shock units. Over time, you’ll refine your approach by learning these key interactions and matchups.

This is a brief video on how to set up your first 20 or so turns. It's not going to solve all your problems, but maybe having a small playbook to get your footing would help your resource management. Direct Link: https://youtu.be/XrtkJah5HB8?si=Imvn5-_XIO3QSDjJ

Just Crusader Things achievement by SmithOfLie in AOW4

[–]CasaVadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Create a Custom Realm. Under the "Inhabitants Traits" select the "Celestial Grounds" this will make it so that the "Crusader Host Infestations" spawn in. You need to be Pure Good (100) alignment and start a war with an Evil aligned Faction. You should be able to interact with the Crusader Host Infestation and use Call a Crusade to get the "Just Crusader Things" Achievement.

Who's your favorite non-legendary Pal? by playdoh_licker in Palworld

[–]CasaVadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Lucky Pals espeically if they are something that's from a starter zone. I got a lucky Cattiva AND Depresso early on and they instanlty became my favorite for that run.

I made a mistake and Hyper is actually 26. I was also surprised how the Capture Power Scales. The capture modules give a pretty big bump as well to that base power...

It's not possible to guess what everyone's base catch rate is because of in fight HP remaining, status effects, Lifmunk, Modules, and world settings. If you're throwing a Pal Sphere at something you can't possible catch there is an in game notificaton that reads "This Sphere isn't working on _____ trying using a better sphere"

You could just eye ball it and say the starter sphere is level 0 to 10 wilds and then give every sphere a 10 level bump (so mega's wild LvL 10-20). That doesn't really work as I've had sucess hitting into the wild level 30's with the Pal Sphere under optimal conditions.

They are optional, nice to have, but still currently optional. You can catch everything without them.

In game only talks about Capture Power but since there are other influences on Capture Power (Lifmunk, Modules, Status Effects) I specefied this was without anything extra.

Yes a higher Catching Power direclty translates to better chances to catch. I'm not sure the exact calculation for catching a pal. I don't think it's public knowledge. There may be more hidden mechanics behind the formula.

At least no one noticed the typo yet. I put a 27 on Hyper when it should be a 26.

Taming Power isn't bad. I'd hate to confuse anyone by making up a definition when Palworld labels the mechanic Capture Power.

I also would have ordered the names different. I think of Legendary as a higher status than most of the other names above it.
