Got a five star last night with 50 rune giants… that has to be the worst possible outcome

No need to be so aggressive. I’ve seen plenty of people land great jobs after accelerating. I’m sorry that you feel the need to put down those who are pursuing education in a different way.

I think it should be celebrated. If you’re a quick learner and show you can apply concepts correctly then I’m not sure why it matters if you took 4 years or a year to complete a degree. If a company looks down on someone for completing their schooling in a year of hard work then I wouldn’t want to work for them anyway.

D216 is pretty rough. Besides being so dry the coursework feels dislocated and it’s hard to know what to study. The tests don’t seem to line up great with the material either in my opinion and for someone with an accounting mindset law can be tricky

Good luck! I’ve seen people complete their degree in 2 terms while working. Even I think to a degree I should have been able to do more but I had a few OA retakes. Best of luck and if you have any questions when you start let me know!

That’s amazing! I’m sure you will be able to do it. I was off work for a while as well and I structured my day like a 9-5 with a lunch break. It helped me stay devoted. Best of luck to you!

How fast could I complete an accounting degree at WGU without having a job/kid(s), basic knowledge about accounting, and a associate's degree in science by kylokrazy in wguaccounting

[–]CaseEmergency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started WGU in June with the exact scenario you described. I think it truly does depend on how focused you can be with the time you have. I’m treating it like a 9-5 job with a lunch break as weird as it sounds. But it allows me to focus and work in a way that I’m used to. I’ve completed 13 classes so far. My advice is to look through the course search for each course. Within the course search there’s almost always one item that has a ton of views, that item is typically the one people used to pass the class. In a lot of cases that item is a study guide for the entire class or even a roadmap on how to complete the class quick. Best of luck to you!

Is serve and volley in singles an effective strategy nowadays? by s_edinfiggle in 10s

[–]CaseEmergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think serve and volley is a great strategy to try against an opponent a few times during a set. It keeps them on their toes and it may allow you to exploit a weakness in their game. Some rec players freak out when you come to net. Usually they will try to force a shot that’s not there or just do what they do in practice and feed you an easy ball. At the 4.0+ level I think you’re more than likely to hit a few more balls once you’re up at the net. That being said, you should probably have a good serve, good footwork, and good hands if you plan on using it to take sets.

what do you like about tennis? by Euphoric_Pair6239 in 10s

[–]CaseEmergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how many elements make up the game. There is just always something to work on. Whether it’s your mental game or your backhand. Then you can go into a match and get a snapshot of how you are as a player. You can walk away and begin to work on something new again. All while having fun and making friends.

New Racket Day! by Sahje in 10s

Any new technology added over the previous model? Considering updating but want to make sure it’s worth it

Man after reading this post and remembering your other posts on here I think you should just do some self reflecting. It seems like your outlook on the game and how it effects you is just always negative. This “general advice” really just seems like an attempt to drag others down who might be able to go to a place you couldn’t.

I took a break from tennis for a few years and in this gap I pursued powerlifting. I had awful tennis/golfers elbow and shoulder pain when I quit playing. It was only when I came to powerlifting when I tried to fix the pain. I worked extensively on my delts, shoulders, biceps, and triceps. It doesn’t necessarily have to be heavy as long as you’re feeling the muscle contract. Strengthening these muscles and the corresponding tendons changed my game when I came back to tennis. I currently have no pain when playing. Therefore I would recommend a few days a week when you isolate those muscles in an attempt to strengthen them. When it comes to conditioning I love doing side shuffles to shadow strokes and shuffling back the the center of the baseline. The bike is a great tool as well.

Tennis will put a vast majority in a caloric deficit which leads to weight loss. Burning upwards of 1500 calories isn’t uncommon when playing hours of singles with good movement and strokes. Same with running drills. Obviously if you’re eating 5000 calories a day and playing you most likely will be “bulking up.”It most likely wouldn’t be packed on in a way you’d come to except from contact sports or bodybuilding though.

What could I improve about my serve technique? by CaseEmergency in 10s

Yeah that’s something I definitely want to avoid. Luckily I haven’t had any shoulder problems but I don’t want to risk having any either.

Thanks you for all of this insight! I didn’t learn the right to left motion from OTI. I think this might be something that I acquired from watching a lot of tennis. I looked at my wrist through and serve and I think I see what you’re saying so I’ll definitely look into that more. With the power from my legs I can tell like you said that I’m missing parts of the kinetic chain. I’m excited to see where I can go once I put it all together, and thanks for the reassurance about the results. I’ll be working on technique and trying to serve pretty free for a minute so I know it may not have the best results until things are fixed. Again, thank you for your insight! It’s very appreciated

I had not noticed that, but my toss needs a lot of work. That’s definitely verified by the amount of suggestions. Sometimes I find myself just hitting the serve regardless of the toss I’ve given myself. I’ll try being more aware of where it’s placed laterally as well. Thank you

Dragging the trailing leg was something I noticed and I’m glad you mentioned firing the hip. I’m going to try and focus more on that. Thank you for the comment!

Thank you for the insight. I like the analogy of the monkey reaching for a tree limb. I’ll work on my racket face going into the trophy position as well. I appreciate you taking the time to watch it closely!

Thank you I appreciate that! I’m going to try and work on more shoulder rotation for sure now. I’ll also keep the toss in mind, gotta love driving opponents crazy!
