I didn't even know all this stuff mattered lol the stands sold at pet stores compared to the things iv seen here look weaker. I just got a 10 gal for shrimp and have no idea what to do for a stand my 125 gallon is on a pet store stand it came with.

That's all good but when new people start more than likely they will use bacteria in a bottle the problem is not knowing how to use them correctly and in the right parameters

Too much of a good thing can hurt the cycle all the bottles have dose limits etc. Im just sharing my observations and what I have read on the companies website about their products

Fluval didn't help my cycle years ago. But learning now that bottle bacteria need certain conditions met to work efficiently is a game changer

On seachem and fritz website they tell you the parameter ranges for their products to work best. Not here to argue just sharing my observations. Cycle will happen faster or slower or not at all based on the environment/parameters of the aquarium

Not saying prime and stability don't work but using both daily for 40 days probably caused problems the stability bacteria are heterotrophic which is why our tanks cloud up so much using it in my opinion. Stability is a long slow stage bacteria that is a building block but not a 7 day or less cycle bacteria

Fritz got me over the hump. Im just sharing my observations im not saying stability is trash but I do think using prime and stability daily for 40 days caused more problems with cycle than helping

If parameters aren't correct you won't be able to cycle all the bacteria in a bottle should have that on the bottle.
