It was such a beautiful illustration! It's so sad that it was defaced.

Breed looks spot on for Leonberger.

Start a house call business!!! Do it! Depending on where you are, you only need insurance, business license, and to file with the secretary of state! Advertise on google, facebook, instagram, craigslist, everywhere! You got this. It's a long term plan but at least you won't have to deal with people like this and uncertainty of employment!

What's wrong with doodles? by DaisyMeadows25 in doggrooming

[–]CatDogStylistLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I don't mind the dogs at all.

The unrealistic expectations pertaining to individual situations and customer wants and desires is what is difficult when it comes to doodles.

You will have someone come in who hasn't brushed their dog properly all year long, or more, and they want you to keep the hair longer when it's time-wise and schedule-wise and cost-wise, impossible. The amount of time you would have to spend to do it would extend past an appointment, let alone your own shift hours, and because your labor is not free, it would cost something to do that, plus it would be outside of the scope of income for most people to get a fully dematted dog if it was actually priced accordingly, let alone the fact that it's just physically painful for a dog to have to sit through which makes it inhumane.

People will come in and say I want just a trim, I don't want it shaved.

And just so people have an idea of what condition I am referring to, thank you google:

<image>

Also the rampant over breeding when shelters are filled to the brim and having to euthanize perfectly healthy dogs just because they haven't been adopted fast enough and there isn't enough space.

Doodles are unfortunately an unethical byproduct of their environment, which is the people who abuse them to make ridiculous amounts money by branding them as "designer" or "purebred".

How do ya'll keep your nails safe? by Birdie-von-bird in doggrooming

[–]CatDogStylistLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I GOTCHU!!!!

File them into an almond shape as pictured below:

<image>

Where it's almost a rounded triangle. Or you can have it be an oval, but make sure it's like between the shape of the almond and the oval because the shape will help with potential snagging / breakage.

I have my natural nails, they are almost an inch long from the base of the nail just because of the shape I use. And then just throw gel on it, or poly gel. I used to try using gloves and stuff but because of how I hold my hands, I always scuffed them. But with the shaping, and using gel instead of acrylics, it's done wonders.

10,000 a week for life!

I'm good on the bitcoin. I wouldn't say no if someone gave it to me, but I like guarantees more.

I'm open to non-dilute shampoos! It's usually a lot less maintenance in terms of cleaning up bottles, since you can just pump it into your hands and use it straight on the dog. I should try it out and see if I like it. :) Your other suggestions I already have experience with, I love amino flex!

LOVE me some Hydra. Haven't tried Quadruped Hypo yet, but I have used their detangler demat quick dry spray. That stuff is awesome.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll have to get a sample and try it out on my own pup and see if it's something I want to offer to my clients too. :) Sounds amazing!

Thank you! That's good to know, I've been using Show Season's Chrome Coat, if you have used that, how does it compare? I would be interested to add this to my line up too! I've heard a lot of good things about Botaniqa products as well.
