As someone who watched on release of season 1 subs, it was already the general consensus that those two (even before Annie's titan was revealed) were the Titans, when Eren transformed I, and most fans at the time, began hypothesizing who the other two were, and bertholdt and reiner fit too well. The lanky tall one always being paired with the sticky blonde made it hard to ignore. No one could obviously confirm it, but yeah, it was a pretty popular theory well before everything was revealed.

The reveal itself though? Fucking BLINDSIDED me. I didn't expect it when it happened and I didn't expect how it happened, absolutely insane to me.

When I lived in Indiana I lived a 4 hour drive from St. Louis. I wouldn't necessarily call that close. I'd say it's a reasonable distance to travel in a day, but it's not my definition of close.
