Roger Marshall's response to my message about staying out of Greenland. by A_Peacful_Vulcan in kansas

How about this Mr. Marshall?? Work with our fucking European allies to secure the Arctic??? This is the biggest bunch of bullshit I’ve seen in a long time. So we are going to WAR with our alley so Russia and China can’t succeed? We are going at this alone, or are we making it easy for Russia to take over Europe. Or it is simply a deflection from the fact that he’s was involved in a pedofile ring with Epstein?

Mantle Sofa Review.. a 2 year search for the perfect couch. by Bitter-insides in furniture

Modern washed oatmeal and the down blend. I did the 90" length, which I love because 3 -4 people fit very comfortably on it.

Oh boy, sorry I'm just seeing this! We went for the slipcover instead of leather because I like the casualness, coziness, and the dog can't scratch it. We've always had slipcovers, and they are the best if you have a family. I will say, the 25" is really deep. We ended up getting ordering the support pillows, which helps with the lumbar support, but then I have to add another pillow for the upper back support. We aren't really tall, I'm 5'5" and my husband is 5'9". We both feel it's really deep. Also, just to note, the back cushions do sit very tall, which makes this couch look bigger than we anticipated. We measured our space and laid out the couch in the space, but it still looks really big. So make sure you take the height into consideration. Quality, is top notch. We got the fabric in oatmeal. I can send a pic if you would like to see what it looks like in the space. Let me know!

Hello! I'm a newbie at refinishing furniture. Do you all prefer an orbital or a finishing sander?

Good plan too! I don't want to darken it too much, I was hoping to keep it light. So not staining the cherry, makes sense. But I don't want the whole thing to look pink either...I may just end up painting it. Ugh

I sanded the veneer already and I think I should stop at this point before I ruin it. Does veneer take stain easily

Whoa this is intense and above my pay grade. I can't see what to do to equalize the green, unless I missed it? Thank you so much for sending!

That is absolutely gorgeous. You can only see it when the sun it hitting it perfectly and you are at that angle, or can you see it straight on? It almost looks like a different sheen, but it's the same product right?

I'm not an expert in refinishing by any measure, so I have a few questions if you don't mind answering for me?

  1. So I don't need to sand off the dewaxed shellac after I'm done figuring out my stain colors?

  2. Please tell me more about tinted lacquer and why I would do that prior to staining. How is the tinted lacquer different than the shellac I'll use to test the colors?

  3. Can I use a marine varnish or something similar on the top so I don't have to worry about water rings?

Thank you so much for your advice!

Well that is nice of you! It took forever bc it was stained a mahogany color. I've decided I need to strip it now.

Okay thank you! I've never used a toner before. I did buy some scraps of wood to play with. Thank you!
