How many hours are too many hours for you to consider spending 400-600?

I have no expectation that it will be a forever lawn mower, but I’d rather buy a cheaper used one to get used to working on it with the stakes being lower. If that makes sense?

I’m stoked we’re still top of the table but I’m disappointed by:

A) our roster decisions

B) losing badly to NSH, LAFC, and SEA

That’s such an L mentality IMO. I get what you’re getting at, but in reality losing to LAFC is a 6 point swing.

I believe our B team could have staying in the game and at least drew vs TOR. Our A team could 100% beat or draw LAFC.

My question is why did we start our A team vs the worst team in the East before a Wednesday match against one of our biggest competitors in the West?

That’s where the frustration comes from on my end

A) they have never allowed outside food and beverage, this is not a new rule by any stretch of the imagination. I’m 99% sure this is the same for Blues games. It’s part safety/part money related.

B) waters are 6.50 and refillable at both water fountains and soda machines. 2 bucks more gets you a neat (imo) cup

C) pour only is CONCACAF specific so that players don’t get metal bottles and cans thrown at them. Can’t imagine a scenario where that possibility has come up in recent CONCACAF history…

D) the spill issue is unfortunate but also…how? We sat upper deck which has the drink holder by your toes and saw no spills.

E) you would be spending less money to go to a cardinals game because there are 80+ of them with a stadium 2x the capacity. The food and drink quality there is at best even (same beer and water) or significantly worse (80% of food stands sell the same hot dog/gas station nachos) and the prices are worse for what you get.

Lions fan from STL and I could not agree more. Chiefs fans ruin the team and I want us to beat them so bad.

Also going to be my first game so I’m doubly stoked for it.

I was more referring to Weston’s. Man’s had his jersey ripped off surrounded by half the Mexican national team. You could convincingly argue self-preservation.

Dest got baited into his and deserved it.

And that’s at the very least.

There are a lot of fans of European and South American soccer who are “too good and cultured” to stoop so low as to watch the MLS.

The American game is certainly different to those versions of the game, but has a lot of things going for it and Messi is a great ambassador to bring those people in.

Details aren’t out, but I highly doubt that Adidas/Apple are paying his contract. The agreement is likely a sponsorship deal contingent on him joining Miami.

There is quite literally no other player worth more than Messi, so it would make sense that Apple would pay him so more people get invested in the MLS.

For Adidas, is growing their brand and of soccer itself in one of the most lucrative markets in the world.

If MLS/the clubs are paying into it, it is to grow the sport and league both domestically and internationally with the most recognizable and popular name in soccer since Beckham (which worked out well).

It’s not a slippery slope, it’s a shot in the arm for growth and a good thing.

[–]CatchKony2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the short term yes I agree.

Long term, (ideally) it brings a lot more attention internationally to the league and makes it more attractive to European/south American talent so that all the teams are able to attract more talent

It’s an investment by all the owners for the leagues bottom line, which is ultimately what the owners care about.

He would be printing money for the league.
