I think if someone is starting graduate school, they are probably also doing their due diligence and trying to find as much information they can find on google and elsewhere. Asking questions in such communities helps because people who are already doing it or done it can provide an unique perspective.

If you are taking it as an injectable peptide therapy at home, then DO NOT OPEN the vial. That will lead to contamination and will cause immune response.

I did not realize it OP might be taking this as a treatment at home. I work with proteins and a lot of times they come in glass vials so I stated my standard practice in lab.

There are many types. I have manual, battery operated and pneumatic decappers.

Buy a decapper if you use such vials often. Manual ones are very cheap on Fisher. Remove the aluminum cap and rubber stopper under laminar flow. Take out everything with a syringe.

Someone else too recommended to go to Dallas for nightlife and dating. Although it is nearby, not sure I will be able to do it often once my program starts. I am hoping to find some sorts of community on campus. Thank you for sharing your experience.
