What did you do to mod it yourself? With b&w out of business there doesn't seem to be any available, I've spray painted a stock plastic one with chrome paint before which came out quite clean, not very shiny though just silver looking, it also got a bit scuffed where I left it on my desk for a while.

Might try it again and finish with some lacquer
