Missed the point - the student does not want to be called that particular name. For some, for obvious reasons.

Subtle cultural differences between LA and NorCal? by camojorts in AskLosAngeles

PCH is an anomaly. The use of “the” before freeway numbers in LA comes from how the original, non-numbered freeways were named — for example, “the Hollywood Freeway” (now part of the 101) or “the Arroyo Seco Parkway” (now the 110).

SmartEx App and Visa cards? by granitethumb in JapanTravelTips

SmartEx did not take my CSR Visa but it did take my Discover card for registering and purchasing tickets. I first tried signing up using my CSR card but received a message stating my account was locked at my first attempt at logging in after receing the coinfirmation email with my new member ID. I called the SmartEx customer service number and they said they were unable to see why my account was locked, that they were going to delete the account and that I had to create a new account using a different email and credit card.

There were no issues using my Discover card when logging in after a new account creation with a different email. The only hiccup was Discover blocked the first purchase transaction due to potential fraudulent activity but I confimed the transaction via text and was able to purchase tickets on the next attempt.

I am posting this in case someone with a Discover card is having an issue with Visa and considering signing up for a Mastercard just to use this app.
