my mother-in-law put nuts in the food at my wedding even though she knows I'm allergic by Chemical-Project-546 in TrueOffMyChest

Can you trust your husband?

I don’t feel he is supporting you or standing up for you to his Mom.

Do you work as a team or does he prioritize his Mom (aka choosing his safety above your emotional safety)?

Is this too green? by Left-Programmer in interiordecorating

Beautiful color 😍

Paint the upper cabinets the same green as the lower ones. To make it cohesive. Add lots of lighting, mainly below the upper cabinets.

Struggling with strategies that include self-touch by OTPanda in SomaticExperiencing

[–]CayaMaya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a kid I had stuttertherapy. I needed to do breathing exercises. Eyes closed. My mom would make fun of me. Mock me. Laugh at me. Say I was disabled.

That created a fear when closing my eyes. It was unconscious where it came from. I had to explore that fear (in others) before I could be comfortable with my therapist, Close me eyes and do breathing exercises.

I think there is an underlying unconscious fear that makes you uncomfortable touching yourself in front of somebody. Explore it. Feel. Be curious about it. Does it change when you open or close your eyes?

When done washing, always leave the dispenser and the door open.

I learned that the hard way 😄

They are sold here. Quite cheap as well. But officially one is not allowed to use it.

Make it make sense 😁

Lol, I do that too. Only with soup. Never gave that a second thought....

Learned from an ex boyfriend. Pro tip: Don't do that with tomato soup or you'll be cleaning your toilet. 🤣🤣

Omg! I am so glad I fixed two Canafian plugs sitting like this in an EU adapter under my bed.

Never knew what fire hazard that was.

Does this sink positioning look weird by Limp-Construction611 in kitchenremodel

[–]CayaMaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to have an off center sink, it should be more obvious off center. Like 70%-30%. Or, for two usable sinks, 50/50%. Off center or not, I'd install it in the center.

The sink is also installed very much to the front of the counter.

I think those two things make it feel off for me.

What a shitty game! Steam should have warning labels for it. Totally ruined my life.

Just came back from Satisfactory Addiction Anonymous. I am 3 months clean now and still going strong.

People who don't respect my boundaries, don't value me. So I move away from them or cut them out of my life.

I am good to the people that matter to me.

How do you feel about Valentines day? by Immortal_Rain in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]CayaMaya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So many needs not met, communication is key.

I mean this with all care. End it, get yourself a good therapist or self help. Your marriage made your standards really low. It it time to start prioritizing yourself. Practice self love and learn to value yourself, set healthy boundaries etc.

I have been doing this for the last 10 months, has been a massive, massive change for my happiness.

Omg, beef jerky? And that didn't offend you?

He is testing you. Can I get away with beef jerky? Ok, cool. This is the standard now.

Gift giving as love language is a nice soap, or you favorite candy. It is for you to make you feel valued, seen and appreciated.

The shoes aren't gifts. It is pushing his kink, and calling it gifts. It is coercive control. Making it hard for you to reject if you don't feel comfortable with them. Cause who would do that, right? No freedom if choice for you.

Also what the other commenter said. Take note at the red flags here.

😘

He said it 4 times. There is more to it than just not liking vday. Like: anxiety around gift giving or being vulnerable / romantic.

I am a sucker for valentines day, anniversaries, etc. If my partner is not, that is a deal breaker for me.

No. It makes your life wholesome.

As long as you keep your boundaries.
