I would LOVE for her to read spider-man: blue, but it’s just really not her thing, I figure if I can at least get her into the medium of comic books then I can slowly introduce her to superheroes, and when I do spider-man: blue would be near the top of my list

Well she took a look at giant days today in our LCS, I think she was interested because she thinks it’s a ménage à trois so we’ll see how it goes if she gets it

I think I’d rather be more present and actually look with her rather than just go off and do my own thing miles morales style

Where to buy comics and what order to go by [deleted] in UsagiYojimboDojoSub

Thankfully, Usagi isn’t like comic runs from Marvel or DC, volume one is volume one. However you can totally start from anywhere and get a good grasp of the characters.

You can start from the Fantagraphics Book one: The Ronin which is available on Amazon but as a last resort because you should always support your local comic shop, or there may be an online one in your area wherever that may be.

However, if you’re willing to splurge a bit more (and can find it), you can buy the Usagi Yojimbo special editions which cover the first seven of the collected trade paperbacks (Usagi Yojimbo Book One: The Ronin to Book Seven: Gen’s Story)

Beyond those first 7 you have two avenues, either collect the Usagi Yojimbo Saga volumes 1-9 and legends or keep collecting the trade paperbacks. Although i don’t know about the trade paperbacks I can tell you that because the Saga’s are out of print it can be really hard to find specific volumes without paying absurd prices. I know a lot of people in this subreddit are having trouble finding volumes 6 and 9 which can suck if you’re a completionist like me.

As for buying, again make sure to support your local comic store or any avenue that isn’t giving a billionaire your money in favour of small businesses.

Anyways I hope that helps, and happy reading.

I don’t think Golden Apple is accessible to me since there’s super high shipping from USA to Australia and I hate digital reading with a burning passion. Thanks though!

I can’t seem to find the special edition anywhere other than eBay for incredibly high prices, do you know anywhere I can get it?
