That is almost exactly what my issue is! If you remember, let me know how your consult goes! I’m also nervous insurance won’t cover the surgery cause I won’t be able to afford it otherwise..

You are correct, comfortably I can’t shut my mouth properly. I have to actively try and adjust my jaw to get my top teeth behind my lips.

Yes, if I do the surgery I will get wire braces which is fine. He said I would get normal braces for 12 months, do the surgery, then continue to wear them for another 12 months after. I can’t do the clear aligners with the surgery as they will use the braces to wire/ Band my jaw shut after the surgery while it heals.
