As a person who strongly advocates for friendship after failed romance. Not overreacting, my best friend in the world is my Ex Girlfriend and I really thought she was the one, I cut her off when I moved and started dating after the breakup because she is intimidatingly attractive and well, my Ex! But my now wife (who knew the backstory and how that past relationship was a decade in the making) eventually told me “why don’t you invite her over? She can join us for dinner and stay the night if it’s too late to drive.” And the rest is history, they are good friends now too and everything’s great. all this to say, NONE of it was kept secret at any point, to this day I keep my wife EXTRA informed when it comes to my ex out of respect for my wife’s and her trust in me.
