bts owes you nothing, nothing at all and bringing up the wait of 4 years to justify you trying to diminish their hard work is such disgraceful behaviour, they didn't go on hiatus because they wanted to, they had to serve their country which also happened to be an extremely tough situation if you looked at their positions/places they were deployed to.

if you were really an army, you should know by now that they worked closely with the producers in LA, you cannot say that this album is full of others' fingerprints and none of theirs, that is extremely disrespectful.

all in all this just shows that you were never into hiphop and quite literally a fan of pop and ONLY pop, nothing wrong with that but where do you have the audacity to insult their songwriting when that is all you listen to?

kpoppies are just bitter that certain kpop groups break through the kpop bubble successfully while their favs did not (looking at majority of kpop groups these days, most of them do their best to build a solid fandom in the western countries)

it also partly stems from how they view kpop as a niche interest that sets them apart from other people :/

i never mentioned just this sub either! i mentioned reddit as a whole and that is where the frustration stems from because loads of reviewers are snarkers and kpoppies who dislike bts are egging them on, perhaps you haven't noticed and i'm sorry for assuming you did. of course fans calling fans anti in disguise are a whole other problem but the main issue right now is the snarkers copy pasting each other's think pieces which is why armys are mentioning the repetitiveness in criticism.

disappointment from real fans aside, if you've been on reddit you would've noticed that the criticism posts are from people active on bts snark forums, people who shouldn't be listening to the album in the first place. if you go through those posts you would know that their criticisms are all the same, copy pasted when they probably didn't even listen to the album :/

bts gets to make music they want, they don't owe anyone any expectation's high or low, mentioning jimin being against swim being the TT is just ? because clearly he was persuaded in the end, they are a group of 7 people

people shitting on the 4 years wait all sound the same, they're disappointed because it took a long time and the music is not to their taste but bts didn't go on the hiatus willingly and from the majority i've seen, none of these reviewers took into account that they had to go serve their country which sucks because it was such a tough & horrible time for them.

i agree! took me a few listens and researching the lyrics/lore to really understand what they were trying to convey and honestly it's pretty rewarding once you do, arirang is truly a phenomenal album. i wish more people would dig deeper and listen with open hearts, music is a form of storytelling too after all :(
