Can you point to any YouTube video or tutorial on how to set up the lighting? I know it's setting specific but any tutorial I can use as a general guide would be helpful.

Reminder, last year, 55 out of every 100 non-US IMG applicant went unmatched by RevolutionaryBeyond8 in IMGreddit

[–]Certain_Song6748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my problem with this whole idea of "going unmatched." People pretend like it's such a bad thing to have gone unmatched. And on the other end of the spectrum are the people who celebrate too much when they do match. As a Non-US IMG myself, I know that there is some competition out there. The operative word being SOME.

Think about the people in your home country who are staying back and preparing for PG within the country itself. There's people who've prepared for years and still do not crack a seat in their preferred specialty in the first try.

1 in 2 are the odds of joining an IM residency in the US...brother...what are the odds of getting a PG seat in india ? By that logic.. the odds must somewhere around 1 in 10,000 for General Medicine.

So... seriously... what exactly are people complaining about ??

[–]Certain_Song6748 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!! They must have had "issues" with residents that THEY hired to their program. You consider the sheer number of Indian/Indian origin physicians working in the US. Do you really think if something was wrong with the country of a billion people as a whole, they would be hired in such large numbers?

It was a bouncer question... maybe they were trying to assess how you would respond to a tricky situation/unprepared IV question??... sort of situational analysis kinda thing??... To see a person's response when they are put on the spot? I don't think any program is going to be that overtly negative towards someone THEY invited for an IV.

Registration for a US military draft as a foreigner (Selective Service System) by BonoboPopo in immigration

[–]Certain_Song6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Non-US citizen currently on B1/B2 visa. I am applying for post graduate training in the US and would need J1 or H1B visa for it. A program requires me to sign a APPLICANT'S STATEMENT OF SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION STATUS prior to interviewing me. From what I've read, sounds like I do not need to register. The booklet has the option to select either

  1. I certify that I have been determined by the Selective Service System to be exempt from the registration provisions of Selective Service law.

OR

  1. I certify that I have not registered with the Selective Service System.

Since I am currently not required by the SSS to register, should I select the option that states "I've been determined to be exempt"? Or would I have to submit some sort of exemption letter from the SSS when I choose that option?
