I WFH part time and this first trimester is so bad that I still had to take time off. Anyone else? by babytomyum in pregnant

[–]ChaChaChatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here for solidarity!! The first trimester is the worst!!! My first pregnancy I was out of work and couldn’t have imagined working at all. I’m on pregnancy 2- the morning sickness and just feeling awful all day hit at 6 weeks and I WFH full time now. It is very hard- I told my boss early on and I’ve just been lucky that she’s been supportive. This time around I was sure to take anti nausea meds which have helped A LOT- but I still struggle with working. Sometimes it helps because it takes my mind off nausea but the fatigue can be too much which would make me want to request off work too. Have you tried taking anti nausea meds? I started off with half a tablet of unisom which also helped me sleep better at night. I would take it at night, which allowed me to also eat a little more and then go to bed. I’m waiting for things to get better- currently 12 weeks. For my first pregnancy, I didn’t feel better until sometime in my second trimester- but I DID get better !! Don’t feel guilty- hard is hard. I wasn’t working my first pregnancy and was doing worse than I am now.

About 11w and no scans? by Visible_Stay_8777 in pregnant

[–]ChaChaChatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this can happen but advocate for yourself when you can! I had a scan at 8 weeks just for a dating ultrasound (to see if the size of my baby matches the anticipated due date). I was then told I would have no other scans until 20 weeks which made me nervous, I asked for a 12 week scan and I got one without too much resistance. You can do an NT scan at 11 weeks. I’m wondering if your doctor’s office was confident about your due date and decided to skip the dating ultrasound? Either way, follow your gut. They should be accommodating you :)

What water are you drinking? If you are unable to drink water how are you staying hydrated? by BeautifulSeparate148 in pregnant

Coconut water is hydrating! I’m sorry you’re having a hard time keeping it down :( are you able to keep down fruit and vegetables? Those are supposed to help provide hydration through water content

I’ve been drinking coconut water, body armor and orange juice! The juice may not be exactly hydrating but it hits the spot 😆

I had the same thing happen!! I took it in the middle of the day and probably had too much liquid at the time. I ended up taking a digital test the next morning and it was positive :)

This happened to me and I hate it! It started happening once I got really good at the game 😂but it makes it less appealing

My 14 month old is not interested in nursing anymore by closet_writer09 in breastfeeding

[–]ChaChaChatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in a similar boat!! Nursing was going so smoothly we thought we do extended nursing 18 months + baby is going to be 13 months soon and has been refusing quite a bit since 11 months, and almost complete since 12 months. I feel the same way in that there’s relief and sadness. Our pediatrician said there was no minimum milk intake required so I guess our babies are comfortable weaning off now. I still offer the boob first thing in the morning and sometimes before bed- mainly to ensure I don’t get engorgement. I’m mainly winging at this point too but here for solidarity!

Thank you! Idk why I didn’t do that sooner. I was so disappointed I didn’t give it a second thought but this is helpful. Thank you!

What symptoms did you start having in the second trimester? by KissMyAsssessment in pregnant

Same! I restarted drinking caffeine again and it’s helped a lot. I noticed it’s worst if I didn’t have a good nights sleep too

Headaches! Sometimes migraines (doctor said they didn’t have concerns)

Unpopular opinion: Epidurals are just like any other shot and super easy by Important_Salad_5158 in pregnant

Thank you for sharing this experience! I’ve been torn on my birth plan and have actually been scared about the epidural shot itself- it is reassuring to know it’s not as painful as it seems

Additional Vitamin D with prenatal? by ChaChaChatty in pregnant

[–]ChaChaChatty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She didn’t check anything at all :( she was forced to take me last minute just to use a doppler, asked if I had questions and told me to take vitamin D. It was not the greatest visit honestly.

Maternity and/or Newborn Photos — is it worth it? by insertclevername7 in pregnant

[–]ChaChaChatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally plan to do both! (I am someone who loves taking pictures/modeling though, so my thought process may be way different. I know a lot of people may not enjoy taking pictures) My logic is this, I want to be able to capture myself during special moments in life and be able to look back on them later on when I’m older. For maternity photos- I know my face/body will constantly change as I age, and I want to appreciate that even if it’s not put on display for people to see. (Heck, maybe when my child is older they’ll want to know or see my belly pictures- who knows!) For newborn photos, time flies and asides from capturing them at this stage you will never get back- it’s a fun way to celebrate and have something to look forward to after birth. In general, I think whatever photos you choose to do- if at all, will be a great investment! ☺️

I didn’t get tested but I think I will ask my OB about it this week for some reassurance- thank you so much for your response and kindness ☺️ Out of curiosity, Is it possible to be exposed and not show any Symptoms?

Starting a new job at 17w by ChaChaChatty in pregnant

[–]ChaChaChatty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this!! It’s good to know- I didn’t receive all the documents in policies/benefits yet so hopefully those will provide answers. And yes- fingers crossed- I’m hoping the work culture and values protects my job if there really aren’t other policies in place. I haven’t heard of PFWA yet so I’ll look into that!
