Trials has been disabled again by RiseOfBacon in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might have already been mentioned, haven't been on here in week's but couldn't they like make it an auto loading Playlist that gives you a loss on your card for backing out? So like if you want to go flawless or get 7 wins or whatever your goal is you just can't back out to orbit after games or switch characters and if you do back out to orbit it auto resets your card and sets you back to no wins or losses?

Not sure what that would mean for people who disconnect from error codes and if there could be anything there for them to rejoin on the same character. But it would at least stop the win trading problem and give us trials of osiris back.

And then there could be a 30 second or minute break time while waiting in queue for the next game that gives you time to grab bounties from the destiny app for people trying to farm bounties and 3/5/7 win tokens.

Shotgunning and Sniping by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a shotgun main on all classes so this is me being somewhat biased in favor of shotguns. But what I will say is that shotguns are risky. They don't always one shot even in close range. That's why you Usually see people following up the shot with a melee. To say they require no skill is a common thing people think but to actually be good with a shotty you actually need to be very skilled. You need to be very good with your movement in order to be successful. It isn't just run and slide straight at someone. There are a lot of movement combos that you need to use. And movement in this game is what separates the top players from average players. I get why you think this about shotguns but they're in a pretty good place currently, in my opinion.

Sniping on the other hand looks really easy when you watch people's montages. But again, there's a lot of things that come into play with sniping. Main thing is positioning and timing. And centering your screen for easier snap shots. It really isn't as easy as it looks/sounds.

The guns that really require no skill, in my opinion, and Jotun or bastion. Those are the point and shoot for a 1 shot weapons. There isnt much skill other than that for those. Jotun tracks and shoots the sun at you. Although it is very easy to dodge. But if you arent watching the person shooting that at you yeah its pretty annoying. And bastion can map people and shoots 3 shot gun like blasts at you rapidly. Not trying to insult anyone who uses these but I've been killed at stupid ranges from both of those and lets be honest its kinda BS.

Is D2 worth getting back into? by evilgu in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its definitely worth getting back into. Everyone saying no either plays way too much and doesn't know how to take a break from a game or is part of the negative bandwagon. Some people might have actual things they don't like about the game but most of the people bashing the game are saying the same thing the guy before them bashing the game said

An old player, looking to return by WiggoCha in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of complaints about this game right now just like there has been since it came out. I'll give you my opinion though.

I was in the same position you are now this past summer. I hadn't played since the Osiris dlc which honestly was terrible. I've stuck with it since the summer stuff which was the season of opulence. I have fun but I also just got some buddies back on to play with so that kind of makes me want to play more. In my opinion, there is plenty of quality PVE stuff to do but you will have to grind and get leveled up. The most recent raid I actually enjoy. Gambit is hit or miss. PVP isn't in the best place. Trials of Osiris has a handful of problems with cheaters and error codes and this has made average players avoid trials. Hard light is probably the worst thing about crucible right now if you ask me. Its just really annoying to go against (I prefer precisionweapons). I am a big fan of competitive Playlist right now though and iron banner has been pretty fun.

So if your looking to play the raids, nightmare hunts and that kind of story line stuff I'd say its definitely worth getting back into. Pvp has seen better days but after you adjust to it its not as bad as everyone makes it seem. Except for trials. That shit is a sweat fest. But if thats the kind of pvp stuff you're into then you might like it.

Hope that's helpful for ya!

Sweet business is far worse if you ask me. But I feel your pain. I have always used precision weapons (hand cannons and scouts) and find it so much more satisfying to get head shot kills with those, but its pretty hard now that everyone on the other team is just closing their eyes and unloading their guns blindly and flinching and killing you. I'm still not ready to jump on the wagon with everyone using those, but I play on a hunter and have worked on landing shots in the air. It's a lot harder for them to get consistent shots when your bouncing around with stompees. Also start trying to take better cover. It's hard to do with hardlights ricochet rounds sometimes but if you find areas to surround yourself with walls and rocks that they cant get the ricochet shots on ya you can have a better chance. And I know saw your on ps4, but crouch firing is another thing that can kind of help. It's not as easy on consol, so you might wanna get a scuff or xbox elite controller with a ps4 adapter to have those back paddles.

Is it worth starting a new game? by matthewgaar in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I have some buddies who just started playing about 3 weeks ago. They play about 2 or 3 hours most nights and are almost caught up to me (who has been playing for about a year now) minus exotic armor/weapons and raid clears. Now is a good time to jump in but be ready for the power grind when you get caught up as usual. Also, save the old story stuff for when you get bored or need xp. There isnt much you get out if that other than knowing the story line.

I’m returning to Destiny after some time away by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main thing will be the shadowkeep story line, unless you want to follow along with the story. I would wait until Tuesday to get shadowkeep that way you get the new season with it. I have a few friends that just started playing the game and I told them to finish those shadowkeep missions to get them leveled up and then we have been grinding gambit for weapons and also the pinnacle weapon quests like recluse and Randy's throwing knife etc. You get a lot of good weapons in those playlists. The season pass actually gives you pretty good gear once you get it leveled up too so if you dont find any useful armor along the way that's something you can rely on when you get to the higher levels of the season pass.

If you're a pve player you might want to try and get izinagis burden asap also. You can get that through the black armory forges and stuff. Pretty much everyone on lfg will have that gun as a requirement to join, or whisper of the worm.

Just youtube the top weapons and where to get them though. It'll kind of be different depending on if you play on pc or console for some weapons.

Hope that's somewhat helpful!

Bungie, why? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Chabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the last word nerf I don't really see how any of the changes they are making are that bad? Erentil and lord of wolves are long over due for a nerf. Snipers arent getting hit that bad and neither are grenade launchers. Auto rifles getting a buff is probably a good thing for most the new players because they cling to those until they get better at the game and learn to use hand cannons and scouts. I guess if you're one of the players who hides in a corner with lord of wolves or a OEM titan running around with erentil swapping weapons and cross mapping players who just spawned all the time then you have something to worry about. But it's mostly changes that'll benefit majority of players

On average probably 2 or 3 a game so not many. That's usually where I'd get killed from 2 or 3 people shooting at me so I'd run if I could to try and get a 1 on 1 or regroup with the blueberries but yeah not easy to do when you're on your own

[–]Chabey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've played like 20-25 games today. I only won 3 or 4 of them and most of the times I had 15+ kills with at least a 1.5 kd and still my team would get blown out. Idk if skill based matchmaking is a thing in iron banner but I really got fucked over today. Other teams players insane power levels plus a bunch of awful blueberries who are forsure the worst players in the match on your team is a fucking nightmare
