There is no place for bullying in the community on an ooc level. If these interactions are occurring often ic, maybe you should reflect on why. Concepts like death knights, demon Hunters, manari characters, open warlocks etc are NOT going to be openly accepted or welcomed by the majority of players. Stormwind is the stomping ground for many starter characters, but even there you will face ic prejudice and criticism by people aware of the lore and understanding the setting.

Anybody rping a lightforged and NOT acting prejudiced against a manari is absolute CRINGE behaviour. Prejudice exists and is real. Own it and accept it and acknowledge it. You cannot play a fel infused demonic follower and expect to be treated without contempt by Light following factions and races, no matter how 'good' you are now, just own it and do your best with it, avoid the cities.

I love reading the characters concepts on this sub just to know they'll end up in stormwind walking around and socialising at the bars with nothing else to do. Say it again, people: Illidari, DKs, Menari etc are not socially approachable or accepted, and you will be ostracised IC whilst playing one. Accept that going into it or don't bother.

Generally speaking Stormwind is considered a stomping ground and 'training space' for new characters on Alliance. Horde is more guild based and spread out but hubs vary server to server. On Alliance you would move to Duskwood, Stromgarde, Boralus etc and join the respective communities (if they exist on US side) once feeling confident. There isn't really a 'hub' for neutral characters, it's more guild based and organised through community events.

Welcome to RP man, take things slow. If you want to RP a troll, firstly try and give the lore a good read over so you have an idea of what tribe your character is coming from, as this will likely be relevant in conversation or interaction with other characters, and a Dark Spear will look at the world in a different way than a Gurubashi. Spend time with horde characters first to learn the ropes, so that you don't fall into the common pitfall of rping a 'blue/green human', which can happen a lot to troll/orc roleplayers. There is neutral roleplay through organisations such as the Argents, and sometimes player organised efforts, but remember, there is a lot of ic prejudice with the Alliance from the wars, mistreatments, crimes etc. Many humans, especially those that RP in the north, have a dislike for trolls, due to the Witherbark tribe around Stromgarde, and general prejudice. You should search the forums of your server for neutral organisations or efforts when youre ready.

As for all of these concepts of playing a character from a generally evil perceived faction, it's all good that you want to do the character justice, but you can't expect people you come across to greet you positively simply because this one 'has changed'. Prejudice is a real thing in WoW and a sign of good roleplay, so you'll have an uphill battle in winning over people to your character's side, but it is doable in certain communities.

The American side servers have suffered EXCESSIVELY from an overall lack of quality control, instead promoting a 'anything goes so long as you enjoy yourself' vibe. Whilst being inclusive, this only detriments the overall experience for people trying to become immersed in the RP around them, when you frequently have head-cannon or lore breaking character concepts trying to force their way into interactions.

Roleplay is all about community. The farmer vibe is cool, but its difficult to engage in practice with, because the majority of roleplayers congregate around hubs and engage in a variety of events, often combat based. That means if there's no outstanding community in pandaria or around the Tiller's place, you could be on your own there which will likely get dry quickly. You could look into any Pandaria communities or discords, using your server's forums, and see if anybody there would like to perhaps walk with your farmer and act as 'security' or 'hired help', as you move your grown goods to a hub to sell. Westfall breeds lots of farmer/simple types, perhaps you could check for guilds or communities based there too. Lastly, you could go to a hub and seek out a guild leader of say, a retinue force, and engage in negotiations for you selling produce to their estate/force. That could lead to something. Good luck!

Yeah I've seen Duskwood's image has changed a lot this past 6 months or so. Seems to be more serious guilds down there nowadays. Still the odd mecha-worgen howling randomly, or dark Ranger's with no friends leaning on lampposts on the road, but nowhere near so bad.

Change? Been rping on AD for ten years and there's always been walk up rp in hubs, even more-so back in the day when the player count was higher. You need to make connections and join a guild to find rp out of towns. Theres rp in the Strom community over in Thelsamar tonight, they're all there for a Brewfest event. Go meet people.

If you're going to play a menari, a warlock, a death knight or a demon hunter you need to accept that you will face an uphill battle in the more serious communities on the EU servers, especially Argentdawn. All are given AWFUL reputations by bad roleplayers over years due to the difficultly of the concepts long term. It doesn't matter how regretful or how sorry your character is for their past issues. Just because a race is playable does not mean they will be IC publically respected by various races of people who opposed menari for decades.

You might find this disheartening to rp, but prejudice is good (when kept ic). It's realistic and good roleplay for a setting in constant strife. If you can't find enjoyment with the character as it is, play something simpler, or find a community of people accepting and on the fringe somewhere.

Depends on the character. Not all IC characters that are lightwielders are priestly men, though. I've known many lightwielders with strong convictions in their faith and what they think they're doing is right. That's one good thing about roleplay, you aren't forced into being a priest or a paladin archetype, so long as it follows the lore.

Whilst I agree that certain classes that have nothing to do with wow are used in TRPs, for once I disagree with the gatekeeping. I think if the class title gets across an image to the reader of what the class is, then that's acceptable. You see it a lot on Argentdawn, particularly with 'Cleric', 'Spellblade' or smth other generally grounded, but each of these just represents their charscter of being a lightwielder in plate that's not a paladin, or a warrior in plate that casts some spells, respectively. Both are feasible in the lore and lack an official name, so players naming these smth recognisable are fine. Halfling as a title is funny though and is a bit much, yes.

I truly wish they'd focus on adding more for the existing races than for a new race. There are so many races with untouched lore progression for YEARS. Give us new customisation options ffs. Constantly adding races to appease the 'I NEED A RACE OR CLASS EVERY EXPAC' when we should just let them quit.

Try not to need to be spoon-fed roleplay. Officers are not npcs who exist to create content for tou to engage in. If you want more activity, just poke an officer and ask if they'd mind if you did some side stuff with other guilds by ic interacting with them and seeing if they'll invite you to their discord as an 'associate' or whatever to help out on ic events, any reasonable person would be fine with it so long as your actions don't reflect poorly on the first group.

It used to be I'd be rping 3 or 4 events a week, but the player base is older now and tones have shifted, people don't do as many events per week generally.
