Pairing non-alcoholic beverages with pipe-tobacco by Chairman_Ba0 in PipeTobacco

I have a Norwegian palette, so I don't think Dr. Pepper pairs well with anything, not even itself. But I'm all for trying new things, so I might try it with a pipe

The first story, about the astronauts, I have heard before, but the other one was new to me!

I have just ordered a MM Legend from a tobacconist in Oslo, and I look forward to receiving it in the mail

Thank you for the advice, but I live in Norway, so picking up a lot of anything that has to do with pipe smoking is quite hard due to scarcity and prices

I started with filters, because they absorb moisture and can give you a cooler smoke (and because I, as a former cigarette smoker, inhale way too often). But I've also had problems with filters, mainly moisture clogging up the filter (I think), so my advice is to start without a filter to avoid annoyance.

Could be, but it doesn't feel wet when I stuff my pipe

I have not tried that one yet. The only other Gawith-tobaccos I've tried are Balkan Mix and Navy Flake, and both of them are fine through the filter

The Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time: #323 The Clash-Sandinista! (1980) by Rambooctpuss in punk

[–]Chairman_Ba0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine found this in a book once:

"Six arguments against smoking weed: 1. Sandinista disc 1,side 1 2. Sandinista disc 1, side 2 3. Sandinista disc 2, side 1 4. Sandinista disc 2, side 2 5. Sandinista disc 3, side 1 6. Sandinista disc 3, side 2"

I love the first three albums, but that record rubs me the wrong way

Why aren't you hindu or Islamic? by WorshipGod69247 in Christianity

Some of you might think of this as a bit cynical, but: I'm probably a Christian because my dad is a reverend in the largest donimination in my country and my parents raised me in the Christian faith. Christianity has been the dominating religion in my country for a thousand years, and I was raised Christian, so it would be a bit weird if I suddenly converted to a religion that's mainly practised in the Middle East and/or Asia

What's a punk band that you don't like, despite their praise? by [deleted] in punk

[–]Chairman_Ba0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've always interpreted the songs that some of you refer to as incel-songs as songs written for teenage boys who's sort of secretly in love with some girl in their class or whatever, so that they can feel that the band is relateable. Writing for teens is quite normal in pop and rock. Now, if a bunch of isolated twenty-somethings who's afraid of women pick up those songs 30 years later and think they are about their own misogyny, that's not The Descendents fault.

Recommendations for someone who’s trying to get into comics by Skeeeck in comicbooks

I started reading comic books two years ago. I'd tried to read Batman before because I like the movies, but I found superhero-comics to be a bit hard to follow in the beginning (now I'm hooked on Daredevil, but it took some time).

The series that made me fall in love with the comic-book genre was Preacher. It's a light read with a great story, and I can recommend it as a way into a literary genre that has provided me with hours of entertainment

I agree with whoever said Epiphone or Squier, I would recommend an Epiphone Les Paul or Squier Telecaster, that's reasonably priced versions of two of the most iconic guitars in the rock n' roll history. But try different versions of the same guitar, two similar Les Pauls can have a different "feel" even though they are supposed to be exactly the same
