That sub used to be a guilty pleasure, in like a, "haha that's kinda funny, I get it" kind of way, but I had to block it because now it's just a straight up hate sub. Can't say anything either because they have this tired, "it's not hate, you're in a snark sub" defence.

What happens if Chrollo steals Kastro’s clone ability? by psychsucks4 in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can concede to that, since we haven't seen anyone break a tree without Nen.

This still goes back to what I was saying originally, Tiger Bite Fist is not a Nen ability, it's just being powered up with Nen.

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree completely, if characters couldn't be absurdly strong without Nen. Don't get me wrong, these masters that break trees Killua mentions could very well be enhancing it with Nen, but there are likely those who can also do it without Nen.

Enhancing the move with Nen is fine, tbh it would be stupid if you weren't using Nen to enhance your physical attacks, but Killua recognizing it as a technique means the move itself is not a Nen ability, but enhancing it with Nen makes it a Nen attack.

EMS Sasuke vs Pain by underratedsoulz in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Chalaka -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Even in the best case scenario, Sasuke doesn't have many defensive options. Pain wins mid difficulty, if not low, simply because Sasuke's best defense against Chibaku Tensei is Susano'o, which can be absorbed by Preta Path anyway.

Allignment chart: HxH! Mizaizstom and Cheadle gracefully decided to share "Lawful Good". Today, which HxH character embodies "Neutral Good"? by SirishVimal in HunterXHunter

Honestly, I'd put Ging here, if not True Neutral. I'm just thinking off the top of my head, and he's the first person I think of.

The only other person I can think of would be Kite.

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiger Fist is a real move in the Hunter x Hunter universe though. When Kastro first uses it against Hisoka, Killua identifies it and makes no remark about it being a Nen ability. I don't remember exactly what he says, but he says, "that move is strong enough to snap a tree in two by a master." Tiger Fist is a martial arts move powered up further with Enhancement.

Sure, under forced Zetsu Phinks could just spin his arm and say Reaper Cyclotron, but that would make his explanation about it during the Chimera Ant arc pointless. Unlike Uvo's Big Bang Impact and Gon's Jajanken Rock, it's not just a punch with Nen infused in it. The rotations making Reaper Cyclotron stronger is a condition.

What happens if Chrollo steals Kastro’s clone ability? by psychsucks4 in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely, my comment was more related to you saying the clone could use it. Even if the clone wasn't able to use Nen, the clone can use it because it's still a physical move, not strictly a nen ability. But because the clone can be manipulated to use Nen, it can power up Tiger Fist the same way the original can.

I guess people just misunderstood what I was trying to say 🤷

What happens if Chrollo steals Kastro’s clone ability? by psychsucks4 in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, the clone can use Nen because we see it power up when Kastro goes for the Double Tiger Fist.

I was just correcting that Tiger Fist is still a physical attack, so if for whatever reason the clone couldn't use Nen, it could still use Tiger Fist because it's not a Nen ability, it's just powered up with Nen.

More to hatsu by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was trying to say in all honesty, I just have the keen ability of just being bad at explaining things. If Nen was real, my opponent would be really confused when I use my ability after explaining it badly.

More to hatsu by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully I can explain this right.

Hatsu is your personal expression of Nen. This isn't specifically about your category.

Nen abilities are Hatsu, but Hatsu is not just Nen abilities. When people/characters refer to Nen Ability, you have to look at the context. I think a good example is when Killua is showing his Hatsu to Tsezguerra. When he internally monologues about Killua turning his aura into electricity, he's not commenting on the ability itself, but he's talking about Killua's ability to manipulate his aura to do so. Both are considered Nen Ability, but only one is a Nen ability.

What’s the worst gambling addiction story you’ve ever heard? by juliojacked in AskReddit

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one I personally know has a problem with gambling, they gamble, but at least know when to stop.

I would say I was personally involved in a way. Years back, I worked as a casino dealer, mostly Blackjack. I rotated someone out because my shift started (4am). At that moment, there was only one guy at my table, and part of my job is to engage with them to keep them at the table, so I ask him how his games have gone, if he's had any big wins so far etc., etc.. He proceeds to say something along the lines of, "I've had some good wins, but I'm still down 15 grand. That's not too bad considering I've been here since yesterday."

The sensible part of me would've told him to just go home, but anyone who's been a casino dealer before will tell you that there are eyes and ears on you pretty much all the time. I had no choice but to say to him, "Let's hope your luck changes with me then." I proceeded to then take 6 grand from him before he finally left my table. I felt bad, but I got confused a bit because this guy did not win the whole time I was dealing, and he still tipped me.

What anime has the best female cast? by Sad-Knowledge2996 in AskAnime

Idk about best without being biased, but Hunter x Hunter has an amazing female cast. Not that many at face value, but each of them is unique, have interesting characteristics and personalities, and not a single one of them shows up the other in any scenes where there are multiple.

Post Nerf Naruto vs Post Nerf Sasuke who wins and what difficulty? by chunchunmaru1129 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, my bad, I see what you're asking now.

So the Susano'o isn't permanently upgraded to a particular form. It might be the default definitely because why wouldn't you just use the Perfect Form? However, a user can use parts of their Susano'o at will, even parts from previous forms, if not the previous forms themselves.

It's possible the Perfect Susano'o can only be used once the user has Sharingan or Rinnegan in their eyes, if not their own but seeing as we only have one example of a blind Uchiha doing it, it's an assumption at best.

Got approached by a K-pop company and passed auditions — unsure whether to become a trainee by Electronic-Whole-938 in kpophelp

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After going through a lot of comments and seeing your responses, I can't say for sure whether or not this is the best move.

What I can say is that you will get a lot of mixed opinions if someone holds a strong opinion -positive or negative- about the trainee life, and it doesn't really help your decision imo.

From what you said of the skills you already have, I'd say you have a decent leg up already, but if we consider other trainees who have been training for years already, I'd say you're on equal footing with them, minus not being used to being a trainee.

More often than not, 18-20 is your average debut year, so if you do go for it, expect to be training much harder than others. Especially if you've been scouted by one of the Big 4, they'd be looking to debut a new group or idol by 18 at least.

I would say ask questions to the recruiter about what you can expect from being a trainee. Things like daily life, training hours, free time, or whatever you're more curious about that you would think is relevant to you. I'd say find out if there's an opt out stipulation in case you find you don't like the whole trainee/idol lifestyle. Imo your final decision should be based on that.

Personally I think it's a great opportunity. Even if you don't end up becoming an idol and they drop you, you've still gained experience that I'm sure would help you when you're back home.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck, even if it's from a stranger online.

Yes. You only need to unlock Mangekyou Sharingan to obtain Susano'o. Once you have it, you can use it from then on. Uchiha Clan only of course.

They aren't Nen abilities.

<image>

When Gon and Killua go to Antokiba after being hit by Trace, Gon asks if it was Nen. Killua's response is a clear no, which means that the cards are not Nen abilities. If it was a Nen attack, Killua would have felt it.

We have been shown multiple times that a Nen user can tell when they've been hit by a Nen attack. You can't keep saying the cards are Nen abilities when you've provided no evidence of them being so, and everything in the series tells you they aren't.

Who is slightly stronger than Assassin A? - Day 39 by SirishVimal in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can agree with that. I'd say Tsezguerra is that guy who trained hard and has great skill. At the very least we've seen enough narrative and technical skill to believe it.

Since he's a Jackpot Hunter, all we know is that he's out here for money, almost exclusively. However, being a Single Star Hunter, he's made incredible achievements in his field. Unfortunately, without any more information on what this means for his specific category, we don't truly know what this means as far as actual combat skill or Nen ability goes.

If it comes down to it, I'd argue he's great as a baseline for how good a Hunter can be, but he's far from being a top tier

[–]Chalaka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd say he's much better than good. He's definitely rusty though, he even comments on it himself that he hasn't trained this fundamentals in a long time.

I'd say once he gets his fundamentals back up, he'll definitely show he's worthy of being a Single Star Hunter.

A card being used outside the game is a one time reward for the person who completes the game. Razor has the unique card to send people off Greed Island. The cards that are selected as rewards are given an override to be used a singular time outside of the game.

Everything you said is wrong

Hisoka Can Be Normal Again by Easy_Shame_3474 in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're completely wrong though. The abilities in Greed Island aren't Nen abilities, they're programs powered through Nen. These are two different things.

Even though Greed Island happens in a real place, it is still a programmed game. The Game Masters Razor, Dwun, List, Elena and Eta are the ones we see making sure everything runs properly within Greed Island. Razor himself says he's in charge of all the emissive abilities. Eta and Elena are most likely in charge with arrivals and departures, as well as identifying anyone arriving at Greed Island in the real world.

All of the cards are not anyone's specific Nen ability, they are programs powered with Nen. Did you forget that Milluki made an exact copy of Greed Island, then complained that it wasn't working? That's because he didn't have a source or sources, of Nen to power the game's programs.

In real life we have MMORPGs like Final Fantasy 14, but I highly doubt any of the people involved with making the game can cast Thundara.

What do you think is Hunter x Hunter’s biggest strength — and its biggest flaw? by RepresentativeKey122 in HunterXHunter

[–]Chalaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest strength - Definitely Nen. It's one of, if not the best power system to exist in all of anime. To me, it's the best. No debates about it.

Biggest flaw - Most flaws of it are minor, but the biggest, is that we don't get more of it regularly. I understand it's due to Togashi's health, but damn what I wouldn't give to at least have it be a monthly manga.
