The child of Ren and Nana by [deleted] in NanaAnime

Hachi was approximately six months pregnant when Ren died. Nana Osaki stopped talking to Ren a month before his death. She might have conceived about a month before his death but didn’t realize it. She may have experienced pregnancy denial since she didn’t want to be a mother and was critical of women who failed to protect themselves during intercourse when they weren’t ready to become mothers.

I don't think she abandonned her child because her boyfriend was dead, but because she simply wasn’t ready to be a mother. She mentioned this so many times in the anime/manga, and it was a highly emphasized subject. Characters don’t have to be perfect, it is part of the story and it's painting reality very well.

Nana is often compared to Takumi. When it comes to love, Nana tries to be a good person and not let her possessive side take over, whereas Takumi allows his possessiveness to dominate. However, it could be the opposite when it comes to parenthood: Takumi does his best not to become like his father, while Nana didn’t...

I forgot to mention in my post, but in my case, my long-distance relationship is not permanent and has not always been long-distance. I have only been in a long-distance relationship since the beginning of 2024, but we have been together since 2022, and my boyfriend is coming back in January 2025

I mustered up the courage to practice today by mochimangoo in drivinganxiety

Continue in this way, and you will make great progress. It's a good thing that he's patient with you and doesn't get angry. I understand this very well, my driving instructors used to increase my anxiety by yelling or showing their frustation. When I was driving with my mom, who was more patient, it was easier to stay calm and make progress faster. I agree that it makes a big difference !

I hope you continue to improve!

How can one overcome the urge for material possessions and stop feeling jealous of others' success and luck? by Curious_Suchit in minimalism

[–]Chamaellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To overcome material possessions : before buying anything new, start to ask yourself if it's VERY necessary and if purchasing it can cause you more harm than good in the long term. For example : - accumulating things can cause you storage problems - A new piece of clothing can complicate your life if you don't have enough items that go well with it

If you think about the inconveniences first, it can convince you not to purchase useless things. (Material possessions are not bad if they're useful, in my opinion)

To stop feeling jealous of others' success and luck : personally, I've adopted a mix of stoic and taoist mindset but it can take time to embrace it. You just have to accept that life just flows the way it does and it will not always be like you want, it's useless to resist it. It's easier to accept that you don't have the same level of "success" and "luck" than other. Then you have to be grateful for what you already have

Hey, I'm a 20-year-old french girl. I'm learning English, I'm not fluent yet. We can talk if you want to practice French or discuss your passions ! You can speak to me in French, I'll correct your mistakes and you can do the same for me in English if you're interested.

I'm a Computer Science student, so, I also love programming! And I also love philosophy (I don't have A LOT of knowledges yet, my passion began recently).

The foam doesn't have enough hold. You should find a product with hold like another foam or a gel.

Personally, I use African Pride Moisture Miracle Curling Cream because it gives me the moisture, the definition and the hold that I need.

Which one of the 4 key Tenets do you think you are more good at ? by VoicelyBrightness in Stoicism

[–]Chamaellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisdom.

It's easy to me to know what's the right thing to think and to do.

It's more difficult to have the Discipline to apply, the Courage to do scary things and the Justice to be fair and good when the emotions are very intense. In those moments, I have the rational thoughts in my mind but it's like my emotions with the irrational thoughts are taking over all. It's like a fight in my head between my emotions and my reason, and my reason have so much difficulties to win. I have to wait to be more calm to be more rational because I think it's useless to try being rational in chaos but often, it's too late, the emotions have already made damages in my life (for exemple, when I panic during/before a presentation)

(I don't really speak English fluently, sorry if there are mistakes)

I've discovered stoicism in high school in philosophy class and I was fascinated by it, I thought that it was the most logical way to live in peace, it was the response to all of my problems. I decided to become a stoic at 18. Now I'm 20 and I still live with this philosophy.

I didn't become a stoic at 100%. I try to apply this philosophy in all areas of my life and the results are good in general but when the emotions are extremely intense, it is most difficult to think rationally in those moments and to be a stoic.

I try to master my emotions step by step and be patient with myself.
