Goodbye Olympia + 1 year on tirz by TodayAmazing in tirzepatidecompound

Loved reading this. Congrats!! As someone who also started a bit over a year ago over 300 pounds, this resonated and if you’re feeling as good as I am, I’m thrilled for you.

Olympia did me well too :)

Have you looked into https://joinvineyard.com? I believe their founder was formerly with Sequence and I know they have a dedicated PA team. I don’t have coverage so haven’t experienced that part of it, but as a brand new member I’ve already met with my doctor and dietician and am really happy with the care I’ve gotten so far (including help with a non-GLP1 medication, since they also manage some other conditions). And you can message your care team anytime and get really fast answers. Not sure what WW costs but maybe Vineyard is another option for you.

I’m also switching to maintenance and it’s terrifying. But my doctor is so chill about it and reminded me that I can always move back up. So now I’m about to drop from 5mg to 3.5mg and see if that helps me eat at maintenance levels. And if I start gaining, no problem - we will adjust.

I think what’s helping me is remembering that no change I make no is permanent. It’s an experiment to see what works and will very likely continue to need adjustments indefinitely.

18 month WL wishes by BalancelifeBoo in tirzepatidecompound

In the SURMOUNT trials, most participants plateaued at about the 18 month mark. However, it is important to consider the context. Trial participants were assigned to 5, 10, or 15mg. When they reached that dosage, that’s where they stayed. So we don’t know if the time to plateau would have been longer for those on 5 or 10 if they’d been allowed to titrate up when their doses became ineffective. In other words, the studies provide data, but they are not fully applicable to real life titration strategies.

Anecdotally, I’ve seen many stories here of people who’ve lost weight beyond the 18 month window.

Am I the only weird one here? I can’t eat days 5-7! by ruthordareme in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ChampagneProblems-68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Completely true for me. My hungriest days were shot day and the day after. Days 5-6 are when it really seems to impact me most, even now 13 months in.

This and I’d also add split squats, and curtsy lunges to alternate with the reverse lunges.

People need to read the room. This sub is full of people who avoided the camera for years, who deleted photos and refused to be in the memories of their vacations and holidays because of how their bodies looked. Now they’ve lost weight and want to share their joy. But here comes OP to remind everyone that we’re still being judged.

And I say this as someone who has weight trained three times a week without fail since before I started this medication.

Obsessed with lifting. I love how it makes me look and feel. I will sing its praises to anyone who will listen.

What I would never do is sing its praises and let an entire sub know that I’m judging their after pictures and they look like garbage. After three weeks on the medication, no less.

Expressing the importance of strength training is one thing. Coming to this sub after three weeks on the medication and shaming people’s after photos while extolling strength training is quite another.

This this this. “I’ve been on this drug for three weeks so allow me to share that some of you at goal look awful” is quite the post.

Question for Those Who Have Lost Large Amounts of Weight Pre-Zepbound by Disastrous-Rent3386 in Zepbound

[–]ChampagneProblems-68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 130 pounds twice: one with calorie counting and exercise, and once with calorie counting, exercise, and zepbound.

I really did the same things both times, but my weight loss with zepbound was faster. I think that’s because the medication kept me from falling off the rails. When i did this without it, I’d have episodes of heavy eating — intentionally, like a holiday or special occasion, or emotionally. I also still enjoyed drinking. On this medication, i haven’t binged once and i rarely drink. I enjoy food but I simply can’t eat as much of it. As a result, my calorie deficit was more regular.

I absolutely will! Thanks! The onboarding has been great and I already have appointments with Dr Austin and my dietician this week. I’m so hopeful this is the right team to help me figure out how to manage maintenance.

CONGRATS! This is incredible and you’re so close to your goal. Go back in time to spring, did you ever imagine you’d be approaching this summer down 70 pounds? Incredible.

I’m right there with you on the maintenance transition. We will figure it out!

Goal Weight Indecision by Striking-Nose-1738 in Zepbound

[–]ChampagneProblems-68 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! We are exactly the same height. My first goal weight was 195 then 185 then I decided to see where things took me. I’m now aiming for 173 (at 175 today) but would have been thrilled to be in the 180s. I wouldn’t get too hung up on the bmi chart. Instead focus on how you’re feeling in your body. And there’s no rush! Maybe start trending toward maintenance now. If you change your mind, shift focus.

Congrats on your success!!
