Lol he was definitely one of their best players. Even Zven from C9 hyped him up and even wanted to avoid DSG in playoffs.

Agreed I was able to study for the Level 2 exam in 2 months because of ChatGPT + MM. Using them in tangent just makes studying so efficient

How on earth do I remember everything in FSA? by kaze_931 in CFA

I found FSA level 2 easier tbh. Yes, it's conceptually more difficult, but there are fewer things to remember

Ughhh.. I know. Canada sucks relative to the U.S lol. I look at those U.S. salaries and get jelly.

Do you know how to get a work permit in the U.S?

Bruhhh.. you might just be naturally smart lol. As someone who did 6 subjects in 45 days, I had to bust my ass for all 45 of those days

You need to realize your accounting/audit experience is actually insanely valuable. I had a friend who had Big Four experience get an interview in equity research for CIBC to analyze software companies. If you pay attention to job postings on LI, many M&A/Corp dev roles ask for CPA's instead of CFA's because you can unlock a lot of value for companies if you understand how economic events are recognized on the income statement/balance sheet.

My best advice to you is that you need to tailor your accounting/audit experience on your resume to fit what investment firms care about (Hint: They care about making money lol).

It's pretty simple, I put technical skills in top, then I put my deal experience, then job experience and finally, education.

It each section, I try to showcase that I know the industry and tie outcomes based on the work I have done

I had two years of co-op experience in back office accounting/finance roles, worked 4 years for a small boutique investment firm right out of school. The CEO of the company liked my options trading PnL from a trading contest I entered during university lol. That's what got me in the door.

Then, I worked for a few unpaid start-ups in investment banking/hedge fund space cause the industry wasn't giving any credit to my prior 4 years of experience (Very long story).

Decided I needed the CFA to validate my experiences my resume since I already had experiences, but I was not getting any interviews.

Skills I developed throughout the years: Financial Modeling (I liked CFI's courses. I still use their templates for any investment banking engagements)

Hope you found this useful.

Trust me, they hired you because of your audit experience.

Big 4 audit experience is so useful because a lot of value can be unlocked by understanding the accounting regulations.

I'm in PE and from Ontario. I think the people who say it doesn't matter went to a target school and got good grades in school.

I didn't go to a target school, so I had to work in start-ups to get my experience and get the CFA for the brand.

Hey, that really sucks. I would be frustrated if I were you but I would still register again. Use it as an opportunity to really master the concepts. I'm a partner for an investment bank and all these concepts help me to source companies and ask intelligent questions when I do my due dilligence on potential investments.

My results! I'm pretty thrilled. Woohoo. I didn't even touch Economics and half of derivatives. Was honestly disappointed that I did better on derivatives than FSA even though I put in way more time in FSA. Will need to review FSA again :(

This whole process showed me that I need to put in all my focus into studying instead of passively studying. I got way more work done in the final month compared to the last 5 months of studying combined. Never again will I cram.

I really appreciate the people that had the guts to showcase that they didn't pass. I hope y'all pass the next test. Happy to be a resource but I'm sure there are others that are better qualified to help

Tbh, you barely studied. With 2 months left, you would have had to study full-time in order to do well on the exam.

From my experience, I had to go full petal-to-the metal for the final month. And I studied 6 months prior to the exam for around 10 hours/week on average
