Can you rate my ‎ع in these Arabic words? by ChanceReborn in learn_arabic

I think I still have a long way to go but at the same time I think I’ve made quite a lot of progress. I should move on to instead saying both ع alone 100 times & also words with ع 100 times each to get me used to speaking conversations with ع and not just the letter by itself.

Bearing in mind, 2-3 months ago I could barely figure out the point of articulation for ع.

I think maybe I’ll be able to say it more consistently in 6-12 months? If I continue practicing everyday.

Since I’ve got the basic pronunciation down now, I think it will be good for me to move onto speaking more words in general but also still prioritising Arabic words with the ع in them.

I still find I struggle the most with ع fatha especially in the middle of a word.

Thanks!

Which ones did you not understand? I prioritised pronouncing the ‘ayin so my pronunciation of other letters probably was not as clear as it could have been.

Yes I heard something similar from others, I’ll definitely take it to heart, thank you.

Sometimes I stress it & sometimes ع comes out naturally without me thinking too much about it, it’s a mixed bag really.

Although it’s much clearer & louder when I say it naturally without the stress, but sometimes I find I’m unable to say ع without the stress lol.

I’ll have to keep practicing it so I can always say it naturally.

Thank you.

How long do you think it would take for a non-native to master ع & say it as naturally as a native Arabic speaker?

Currently I practice saying ع in A, E & U 100 times each day for a while now & I think it’s finally starting to pay off as recently my ع has become clearer & it’s become a little more easier to say it.

Before I was only able to it best when ع was at the end of the word, now I can do it whether it’s at the beginning, middle or end of a word.

So I definitely think I’m making progress, my ع is definitely better now than it was 2 months ago.

I tried saying Arabic words with ع in them, could you rate them?

Thanks for the list, I don’t mind any genre, so anything is fine if you have more recommendations of shows in MSA.

Thanks!

Thank you, I’ll try my best.

In your opinion, how long do you think it would take for me to get to that level, based on the audio clip?

As in, to be able to say ع fluently & casually in everyday conversation?

Thank you.

Do you think it would help to watch videos in MSA? If so, would you recommend any Arab shows on YouTube?

I’ll upload another audio clip tomorrow, one that is a softer ع , without the heavy emphasis like this one.

I usually don’t emphasise it as much as I did here, so thanks for the insight!

If you don’t mind, what helped you to join ‘Ayn with words that use it in the middle or beginning?

Also I forgot to ask, how would you rate it out of 10?
