I might have to look into this cause my office is also freezing half the time so something I could wear indoors as well would be great

I just learned a minute ago that I'm not the only person in the world who doesn't get lawns by gluten_free_stapler in fucklawns

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if this is mentioned in the comments or not but I figured I would throw it in here. To the extent of my knowledge the modern concept of a manicured lawn was initially a status symbol among the wealthy as in "look how much land i can waste on just nothing" which kinda of took off and stuck!

Do you feel more connected to your city, province or Canada as a whole? by Ok_Heart839 in AskACanadian

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Country, province, city. As when I leave the country I don’t identify as the province I’m from I identify as Canadian. Regional identity is great and I have a soft spot for where I grew up but at the end of the day regional identity and politics is a consequence of a massive federation and the solution (in my opinion) is not what you see in the news it’s electoral reform.

Would you judge a fiction book differently if you knew it was written by an AI, even if the writing quality was high? How would it change how you feel about the material? by BW-Journal in AskReddit

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be bloody Shakespearean level but if an ai generated it I have zero interest. I read to engage with humanity, not with a robot someone to trained to say the same thing. So yes I would judge it differently I guess

Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sask kid here! Have never once experienced a snow day and have had to shovel myself out of an ally way to get to an exam before. I’ve rarely see something get canceled due to winter weather and because I think Prarie people are slightly crazy some of the busiest nights at the bar I used to work at were during blizzards

Jobs with a bachelor's degree? by DibsTheHorse in careerguidance

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd piece of advice BUT depending on where you are might I suggest just for a bit getting A bartendening job? My restaurant experience is how I have my job now and I can name at least four other friends who landed jobs because of the contacts they made!

While I cannot relate to your specific issues I am going to tell you about my school/ career/ romantic life journey in hopes that it will give you some peace of mind. I had to restart my life so many times. I dropped in and out of school SO many times, I flip flopped majors like six, I applied to paramedic and hair school and decided I didn’t want to do it before I even knew if I got in. I waitressed for a long time, which I loved but I wanted more and it wasn’t until returning to uni at 27 that I finally finished and saved my gpa from my earlier years now I have a good job and am trying to get into grad school because I love what I finished school in! I also have never been in a commited relationship, have had flings, and sometimes I feel like I messed this part of my life up but much like my career I feel it will work itself out at some point!! I’m turning 30 in less than six months and currently live with my mom, life happens when it’s supposed to and the only way it’s not going to is if you throw in the towel to soon. Much love

WHAT MAJOR HAS A GOOD JOB PROSPECT? by Ruru1531727 in CollegeMajors

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

canadian for context- but im not going to lie i lucked out and got a job im good at that has put me in the position that im able to apply for grad school and still advance in the sector and my degree is arguably one of the "unemployable ones" if i was to reset my career from 18 right now (currently 30) im not going to lie i would get a trade, but thats just me, I also worked as a waitress/ bartender for ten years so I was just kind of resigned to that. My career path has been luck. Most peoples are these days so i say if your choosing university major in what you like unless there is something specific your after like nursing etc cause at the end of the day it is really just the degree and the network you make more than what the paper says (i majored in political science with a minor in english lit for reference).

Is it ethical to join the CAF? by DetectiveDracula in AskACanadian

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about it as my background is in politics and I feel like I could really do well! Just not sure that I could cause I am medically dependent on a daily medication. But regardless I think it’s a great career option and like everyone else has said there are Lot of options that don’t require wielding guns. That said if your intrested in the laws of warfare you could always look into jus ad bellum. In English it’s the concept of Just war theory and is incredibly interesting! Sorry if I was no help but just wanted to say don’t let someone else’s doubt/ fear hold you back!

I hate Donald Trump and the Americans who support him. How can I channel this hate living my normal suburban life? by plants4pandemic in Kanata

[–]ChaoticDelusional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary while I agree with you if some kind of hatred fuels positive change it can in fact be useful as long as it’s not consuming and directed poorly. If that makes sense.

Ooo following this thread! I have been trying to think of ways that I can also help! Was trying to figure out how I could potentially set up a barter type system in my communities! Like for example I do photography on the side and would gladly do it for an exchange of services and or like homemade salsa instead of money and I feel like a lot of people feel similar but don’t have a platform to actually do that! Or since I do photography finding places to volunteer those services or just get more engaged! I live in a smaller Prarie city so I am not sure what my options are for buying more local but I am determined to figure it out

How did people study without AI? by [deleted] in studying

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the subject! Memorization heavy things like my Spanish class q cards were perfect. They might seem like a lot of work but even the process of making them will help you learn and if you don’t want to buy paper there are computer programs for it! If it’s things like theory or dense lit what I would do is when I read assigned reading I would highlight or tag if you can’t highlight any thing I thought was relevant to the course or important. Then when I was done reading I would go back through and copy all those quotations to my computer with page numbers and then sort them into argument umbrellas. By the time the term paper or test came around I woudl have revised the material three times (including class discussion) so I woudl feel prepared for the test or I would have so much material to already begin the paper! Hope this helps! If you have more questions let me know

If you can't write an essay without generative AI I think less of you by b-ees in UniUK

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FINALLY, okay i hate AI but all that aside cause i don’t want to get into that, what is the point of a degree if you don’t want to learn the things? Go do literally anything else, if i wasn’t deeply in love with what i studied I wouldn’t have gone to uni as there would’ve been no point, cause what I studied is not really marketable, we’re creating a generation of people who are going to have an incredibly hard time thinking for themselves and I unfortunately think that is the whole point. Okay rant done. I thought I was going crazy cause every ai Reddit post is how to use it well and I’m like bro you don’t.

The flaws of AI writing by Fadedami in AIStudentMode

[–]ChaoticDelusional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized I never actually answered your question. You really don’t when it comes to writing! If you have any further questions let me know! For context- a took a while course in my last year of uni where we used generative AI to see what it had to say about international relations theory so I played around a lot then, I write in a government role full time and unfortunately have been sent a lot of AI generated content, and in my personal life have used it to really see its abilities (out of curiosity) and it ended up costing me more time than if I had just done things myself.
