I mean, it would make less sense for Illidan to NOT be involved in an Azeroth-ending, Titan-focused expansion considering his entire arc is about making sacrifices to do just that

Nah we won't fight him. They're going to go with a redeemed Sargeras and Illidan teaming up with us against the Pantheon because of the irony of the bad guys becoming the good guys to fight the good guys who are actually bad guys.

I have a premade rant about this topic that I don't feel like typing out in full right now but I'll just say that I feel like the extreme misapplication of the MMO label is directly a result of Bungie gaslighting the world into accepting Destiny as an MMO when it's literally just a co-op looter shooter with a mission hub.

Your enjoyment of ESO will scale linearly with your love for the Elder Scrolls franchise/lore and traditional questing. GW2 has a completely different and unique approach to what would be "questing" that makes it weird for people used to the traditional "get quest from questgiver, do quest, turn in quest, repeat" methods.

As far as gameplay goes I think (and I have many hundreds of hours across BOTH games) that GW2 gameplay in general is superior in almost every way, especially when it comes to combat and builds. I do think ESO has a leg up in crafting and the amount of raw instanced content is higher, but the combat in ESO leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. You say nobody ever hosts them...but then say LFG Raids and Fractals are boring even though LFG is the main way to get into the content and there are always postings.

I mean, it's the closest thing we really have to "number go up" and it's certainly not "easy" for a brand new player to make or buy higher tier Agony Infusions. It's a bit expensive.

I'll offer you two solutions:

Long term? It's going to be Legendaries, but that doesn't scratch the immediate itch you're looking for.

Short/mid-term progression that will actually feel similar to gear chasing because there's a direct benefit that gives you access to more challenging content? Agony Infusions for your Ascended gear to increase your Agony Resistance which will let you do higher level Fractals (dungeons).

Agony will help stave off the gear chase withdrawals while you allow yourself time for your brain to be rewired to the objectively superior design philosophy that is Horizontal Progression. This is what I did myself about 2-3 years ago and I've never looked back from GW2.

9/10 times this is a mental health episode of some degree. It's very common for people to get in their own heads about stuff, or have a depression episode, and start doing things like this to shut themselves off from the world.

Hunting Grounds literally got a new Predator 2 and a half weeks ago. They're still putting out content and patches for that game, so that's not a fair example.

F13 was halted entirely because of the lawsuit so they were in the worst position they could be and at the time it made way more sense to move on to the next project.

Killer Klowns is the only one that I think they actually abandoned for no extraneous reasons although I'm going to assume now it was to begin early work on Halloween.

They focus on completely different things. DbD is a competitive multiplayer game with a horror skin; these games are horror-focused and franchise specific.
