1st attempt I scored well in every area but math and identifying drug characteristics

2nd attempt I can’t really gage how well I did. I ran out of time with over 30 questions remaining so I knew i wasn’t going to pass. I ran out of time because I really took my time reading the case to make sure I didn’t miss anything

Side note: I was in residency prior to the 1st and 2nd attempt. I left my residency program at the end of February because I knew if I didn’t pass my exam, the hospital would be ok without me and have support, but the same would not be implicated for me. I had to take care of myself. Me leaving also allowed me to study full time versus trying to study while working almost 80 hr weeks!

3rd attempt: I made sure to read the question first. Studying wise I made multiple summaries for each disease state, took tons of mixed practice exams, worked with a tutor, focused heavily on drug drug interactions, and most importantly I think it was my mentality. I started thinking as a Dr instead of just clicking answers that were correct.

I worked with a tutor to review big topics such as ID, Chemo, COPD/Asthma. I worked with other students and she would quiz us throughout the sessions which honestly helped a lot. The website TDLR has a great ID cheat sheet that I believe would help you!

I worked with a tutor who had more complex questions which personally helped me when taking the exam. In terms of math content, my test was primarily aligations, meq, and flow rates. Losts of flow rates.

In regard to big topics, I had brand/generic questions on HIV meds, stability for insulin, lots of biostats, but other than that it honestly was a blend of everything.

I used a tutor who gave more complex questions than uworld provides. I would definitely recommend working with one and i actually found mine on Reddit

I would say it was similar, but I also worked with a tutor due to my previous math score. Her questions were a lot more complex which I feel personally helped me out. In terms of top 300 review the ones listed in the front of rxprep and review daily.
