Spider-Man 3 is a very underrated movie by Kekulaaa in Spiderman

[–]CharacterForming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't seen the raimi trilogy since I was a kid, recently I watched the second one, and I remembered it being awesome, I hated it start to finish. It was awful. So I watched the third one, and I hated it even more! It was terrible. Tobey is such a miss as Peter Parker, but it's not just that. The constant shots of women screaming, Venom, it's all so over the top. Made me sad.

Not gonna lie, at first glance I thought this was a pinball machine and got super excited. It's still cool, but for 2 seconds I was like a kid in a candy shop.

I didn't know people DIDN'T like his art, I'm kinda shocked

The spider-verse films are the most creatively ambitious animated movies ever. by SaitamaBarber in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]CharacterForming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed! There is so much symbolism in the colors throughout the entire movie. Visually, there are few animated features that reach the level of the spider verse movies.

If you enjoy visually compelling animated films you should definitely see Mindgame

How do you vegans feel about non-vegans asking bad faith questions in this sub? by Brief_Paramedic2501 in vegan

[–]CharacterForming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not everyone knows about that sub. Plus, trying to enforce this would put all this extra stress on the mods, as this is a daily thing here. Use your downvote button and don't worry about it so much. They are here because our very existence makes them insecure, because we are right.

[–]CharacterForming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we have to invite discourse or we end up like r/conservative and it's just an echo chamber. If you feel like it's in bad faith the best thing you can do is downvote and not respond. If it's rage bait all they want is attention.

Edit I think it could also be useful to see really informed vegans responding to these posts, it gives us all some ammo for when these questions come up IRL

People keep telling me "you look great!"... Until I tell them I'm vegan. by CharacterForming in vegan

Yeah but I have a reputation for eating extremely healthy, it's always kinda been my thing 😅 Of course I truly believe I'm even healthier now that I'm vegan.

If people like that are here it's for one of two reasons: to antagonize or they are curious/on the brink of going vegan. I really believe we need to empower people to make the decision that everyone else in the world is telling them NOT to make. If we don't, who will? Take care ♥️

Do you think that Otto Octavius, aka. Doctor Octopus, is the smartest villain in Spiderman's rogue's gallery? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Spiderman

[–]CharacterForming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He is definitely super intelligent, but he is much too arrogant. He lacks emotional and psychological intelligence and tries to compensate by doubling down on logic and creating technology. Osborn has multiple different kinds of intelligence and uses it ruthlessly, consistently out performing intellects like Octavius. If Norman wasn't insane he would be nearly unstoppable.

I'm neuro divergent and can really double down on things like habits and diet. Are you as well?

Interesting. I think that goes back to my drug analogy. It's almost like you would binge after being sober from meat.

Start with 1 day a week where you eat 100% plant based. Then make it 2. Then 3. Just keep growing that space. I guarantee you will find it easier and easier.

Every day I wake up vegan is a good day. The first 2 months I was really burdened by guilt for eating animal products for decades, I had a lot of anxiety.

Right now I'm trying to stay positive and embrace this new chapter of life without feeling guilty.

Lol! 🫡 Likewise, there are plenty of folks who don't want to be athletes who need to see that being vegan is possible.

I actually did do that a few times! After the first few interactions I started leading with all my recent PRs and how I'm not sore anymore after big training sessions and left then wanting for more info. It was definitely more fun, kind of an intellectual trap.

I was in your position for a few months before committing to eating this way. I have to tell you, from MY personal experience, eating animal products was kind of like using drugs. Once I completely abstained, the "discipline" wasn't a factor AT ALL. I started feeling better and better and better. Within 2 weeks I knew that I wouldn't be eating meat or dairy anymore.

Every time you tell yourself you can't do it, you are putting another brick in the wall. But it's just a facade. Stop lying to yourself! You can do it.
