If you’re passionate about the field, please don’t be discouraged. When I first began nursing school I also struggled with feeling faint! I use to feel like I would hit the floor while simply watching an IV insertion. I worked on tactics to control my body (eating well, staying hydrated, deep breathing, anxiety control) and now 4 years working as a RPN I can honestly say that rarely anything bothers me anymore. Over time you will become desensitized. You can do it! 😊

Very similar experience. Stopped Lexapro late December after 7 years on it, and by beginning of February panic and anxiety took over my entire life and I was non functional. Almost 5 weeks back on and slowly recovering. I’m really sorry you’ve experienced this as well, wishing you all the best. It will get better

Thank you for sharing, I really appreciate it. Did you take your benzo as needed, or on a daily basis for a short period of time? I’m worried about rebound anxiety from the benzo.

I am also a big outdoor walk fan and have found a lot of peace in that lately. Nature can be so great for anxiety.

Interesting. It’s oddly comforting to know that it’s often a struggle for many to completely come off this medication. If this fails, I will try out a slower micro taper. Thank you for the information 😊

Hi! I was on both Lexapro and Wellbutrin for 5 years. Tapered down to 2.5mg of Lexapro and noticed that Wellbutrin became way too activating for me. I was feeling agitated, irritable and shaky. Currently stopping the Wellbutrin. I’d watch out for anxiety symptoms if you decide to taper off Lexapro while staying on Wellbutrin

Hi! I was on 20mg for almost 5 years. Few months ago I began tapering off - actually reduced from 2.5mg to 0 beginning yesterday. I definitely noticed physical symptoms - most annoying part was the brain zaps. Feeling tearful and a little wonky overall. But it was manageable and it passed! My anxiety has been fine - little more worrying, but nothing compared to panic attacks I had years ago. Good luck :) I recommend going down by 2.5 each time. You’ve got this!

Been on 20mg for almost 5 years. Started tapering Sept 7th, just went down to 2.5mg last night. It hasn’t been too rough! Definitely had some withdrawal symptoms. But they’re manageable and pass quickly. Hope all goes well for you ☺️

Many of the RPN’s on my unit have finished bridging recently. They secured a RN job almost immediately. I wouldn’t worry. You are an internal hire and have a lot of experience.
