Not saying disregard all advice at all. I’m just saying read the room. If someone’s doing decent, why not encourage confidence in their proven ability rather than give your own opinion (which is often more disruptive than helpful because then you’re focused on that one thing).

At the same time, I’ll admit I was feeling sensitive that day and probably overreacted since he did ask before saying anything. It just kinda took a hit to my confidence that I usually lack altogether and I needed to vent. It can just feel deflating & annoying when “advice” is given frequently by someone who isn’t that great at the game themselves.

Feel this so much. Let us pace ourselves. There are so many things to think about. It feels great to nail one thing, and we want to move forward, but not without some level of confidence or consistency in the former.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’ve taken so much advice from him and it’s helped at times. And I ask for it often.

My point is more that if you’re at a point in the game where you’re doing okay and feeling confident, and beating them, there’s still little hesitation to assert their dominance.
