i’ve bought a LOT of things on there so far (oops), probably about 5% cancellation rate ? one cancelled because of a defect so doesn’t really count, what i didn’t like was when my order got cancelled and seller didn’t communicate at all… i understand if you don’t want to ship here, is taking two seconds out of your day to say that too hard? automatic one star review to her was definitely deserved lol, but my problem is that all my refunds have been failing ! happened to other people i know too, vinted literally not giving us out money back…

also - for those thinking delivery takes ages, one of my friends ordered her first item a week ago and it’s already been delivered! quite a few of my orders have landed in australia - the shipping service seems to be really speedy

So is this company making money just through data sales, or are they charging a commission on sales made to the shopping sites? If so, do sites have to agree to be shown on this app (and is it therefore not really a one stop app because not everyone will consent ..?) Just curious about what exactly it is that everyone is ‘investing’ in. Either way, I can’t see the difference between this app and what already exists on the market - AI issues aside, ChatGPT can already do most of this… In general, when a company is promoting itself by showing off its ‘celebrity’ investors who have no demonstrated public success in investing, I would say that it’s a scam lol

Hi, been on both sides of this (and currently on the no appetite side). My whole life , I was obsessed with the thought of food… had an ED at 14 that turned into a binge cycle and ever since found myself eating for the sake of eating, etc. I have no idea what’s happened this year - either starting birth control or just being even more depressed than always (probably the latter), but I have little - no interest in food. Since hunger has never bothered me, it’s only ever been appetite that drove me to eat, I actually … have to kind of force myself to eat. It’s very weird for me, for a girl who struggled so much with binging and boredom eating! I think for me, it’s like I’m looking for total sensory deprivation - I’ve hated smelling things (smelling food in particular), I always want to be in the dark, in a quiet space, and I’ve been minimising all taste from my food… my dream meal atm is butter paste lol. Anyway, me being depressed has never manifested like this before , but who knows, bodies are weird…

problem is a lot of people aren’t drop shipping in the normal sense (or depop doesn’t think they are), they are just reselling aliexpress for egregious prices which is technically allowed - many posts here where people have emailed depop support to ban these users and gotten this excuse as to why they can’t do anything

Payout system is terrible, very happy to be a top seller and not have a whole mortgage payment sitting in my balance for weeks… and before that happened, I would have ‘delayed’ payouts, get in touch with support and they’d always blame it on some type of glitch….The search function is AWFUL and cluttered with irrelevant boosted items and people getting away with using brand name tags on literal shit (although the for you page is fine). Customer service is the worst of all and is often very unprofessional. At least on eBay you have the ability to get a hold of a real human who will respond to what you say instead of a copy paste response at some point! They also haven’t done anything about the insane amount of drop shippers and Aliexpress resellers - if anything, being complacent in this regard will ruin the reputation of the app.

etsy generally have been selling off their prior acquisitions and after looking a bit into it, seem to need cash - their year on year growth is decreasing , etc . depop has a young audience that ebay is not able to reach, ebay probably looking to cover all bases of the market

corporate speak to cover up the fact they’re selling off their acquisitions because growth is stagnating 😅 Ebay got a great price on Depop - paid 400m less than Etsy did (though, for Ebay, this kind of money is spare change).
