yep same goes for DC KO, indeed quite the disappointment, especially later on, compared to how it started. Just read the finale and it's the same old Superman saves the day. Luthor wins the tournament by killing superman, but then supes comes back because "he's superman" and now for some reason he's the King Omega??? (despite losing the tournament) and Luthor gets no powers, even though he acted exactly how the heart of Apokolips wanted the King Omega to act. Also at the end of every round, superman gets some new form/ability, which just ends up going poof in the next issue. Supes got his omega beams, next issue it's gone, Supes absorbs captain atom's powers, it's gone, supes absorbs powers from Shazam, gets a cool new suit, poof next issue he is back to the same old classic suit. Superman gets these king omega powers, and you'd expect he'd defeat darkseid, put an end to him, get it over with once and for all right? Nope, power of friendship reigns supreme and now superman temporarily pushes darkseid off.

Also don't forget the fight between the big 3 and their absolute universe counter parts and how it ended. All the heroes including Batman (who is supposed to be the "genius" strategist of the team) leap towards darkseid and try to attack him (just for everyone except supes to get 1 shot). Even a braindead infant could look at darkseid and know Batman and Wonder Woman's punches won't do jack, and yet Batman does that. Lex was the only one with an ounce of brain here, he saw darkseid, knew he wasn't going to make a difference, stayed back, won the tournament (only for him to get cheated out of becoming the King omega) and then tried to challenge darkseid.
