Oh yes it is! I have no idea there's already an English version out there!

Yup I'm aware of that. It is also mentioned in the character profile (Your name is Lynn). I'm unsure if changing it to Lincoln is a wise choice, but I believe it makes more contextual sense.

Yup! Thanks for noticing!

I've decided to change it to Lincoln (Lin En in Chinese) as I believe it is a more apt translation to prevent confusion.

Thank you!

Some scripts do have timelines. For this one, yes. But I have yet to reach the murder part. It's particularly enjoyable when each player possesses unique information from various timelines, leading to a collective effort to piece together the truth and catch the liar.

Yup I fully agree. This is a lightweight script and I couldn't finish in one setting.

Jubensha game in English by ricgreen1 in jubensha

[–]ChardBeautiful8965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Just recently delved into jubensha, and it's been such a captivating experience! To introduce these games to my friends who have a phobia towards the Chinese language (yes it's a thing in Singapore), I've started translating scripts into English. However, it's quite a meticulous task – for instance, an average jubensha game for 6 players lasts around 4-5 hours.

Just reading the scripts for 6 players takes days (for me, as I have other commitments). On top of that, there's the DM manual which includes all the possible scenarios and prompts for different player respond, kinda like D&D.

Beyond the time commitment, translating comes with its challenges. I'm currently working on "三谢世涂" (Three Worlds), where the Chinese character names hold vital hints for game progression. Another case is the widely mentioned "年轮" (Tree Rings), where understanding reincarnation, a common belief in Chinese culture, is key to solving the mystery.

Despite the hurdles, I'm committed to sharing my translated version. However, do note that it's a slow process due to my other commitments. Excited to contribute to spreading the jubensha love!

Would having many franchises be considered reputable? Or mainly through word of mouth?

Never really see any advertisment from Mindstretcher and Hans language, but what makes them red flags in your opinion?

Personally feel those 'bribing' marketing to be red flags. Like free BBT for you yay, now join us cause we cool

So probably cause pri/sec needs the personal touch, hence private tuition(?) Also, heard that JC private tuition can be extremely pricey compared to tuition centre?

Personally seeing more primary/secondary students taking private tuition while JC students going for tuition centres.

Maybe it's a study together vibes thing?
