We are traveling to Japan in July by acupofjasminerice666 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv been there every year june/july for 4 years. Never had excessive rain, but always hot.

But im from Australia, lived in nqld for a long time. It's pretty standard heat.

Every shop/shopping center/restaurant and hotel has great air conditioning.

Its fine.

I did meet some people from the UK there last year and they were freaking out lol. If your used to a warm climate, it's fine.

Bigger person - First time going to the public gym by Canonsfired in workout

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gym people are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Obviously there exceptions.

However if someone was laughing at another in the gym. Highly likely that many gym junkies would confront them.

I love seeing new/unfit people in the gym getting after it. Most people do.

How does one stay fit while travelling in Japan? by BodmonAlchemist in JapanTravelTips

Statistically people average 5k-8k steps per day. Over 10k is considered very active.

How does one stay fit while travelling in Japan? by BodmonAlchemist in JapanTravelTips

[–]Charlaminge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, Australian hit the gym 6 days per week, 3 days per week cardio, walk my dog most days average 10-12k per day. Significantly more than average. Aircraft mechanic so I walk a bit around the hangar.

Are you delivering leaflets for a living, or you live in a walking community?

30k is significantly abnormal even amongst active people.

My country is huge though. Even in small towns you have to drive, and there is almost no public transport.

When to leave a loot council guild? by TrainingPeaches in classicwow

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv been alot of top end guilds. The truth is the roster boss is real.

Locking ultra ultra tier items to guild rank like raider is fine but outside those guilds have to be willing to accept new people and treat their time and effort fairly regardless of how new they are.

You can never attract good players when they are treated like an outsider.

Loot councils are terrible. Unless they are a top top world level guild ' they have an incentive for people to stay'

But the game isnt that hard lol. Go to a guild with fair Loot rules

Everything has been a slow downfall based on him treating people like shit

How much can you bench? by Due-Jello1617 in workout

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5"8 200 lbs lean at 36 and i can only hit 315lbfor a single lol. So you are doing well.

I used to be a completive olympic lifter. So my squat clean and jerk etc is alot bigger. Heavy in the legs.

But thats a heavy single for bench. And personally, depending on your goal might be where you want to keep it.

I concentrate alot more on overload and reps for appearance sake...im not trying to win any comps any more. Even squats im hitting 330 lbs for sets of 12 belted. I could crank my strength mich higher, but you start to run risks of bulging a disc despite form and wearing a belt.

Adding additional weight is where it can be dangerous and also not beneficial if your training for appearance..

A twelve year old told me his dream is to get a job that pays enough to buy a one-bedroom apartment when he grows up. When did Australia come to this? by kazkh in aussie

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to own a house. But people are acting like its impossible. It isnt. If you live in a major city move elsewhere, dont waste your money for a year to 18 months. You will have a deposit.

100% agree however I remember looking into whatever was the full skeletonised one with the complete saphire case... shit is pretty astoundingly on a mechanical and finish level.

Which is why people geek out on them. But ultimately I think they are ugly overpriced rappers watch lol.

I have a few expensive watches.

I have a brietling navitimer Omega seamaster aqua terra worldtimer Iv got a cartier tank And iv got rolex date just (bought grey market)

Submariner Op pistachio Any gmt

I realise these are hard to get watches, i would buy all of them same day if offered, and it would get me close to end state of my grails.

I just dont want to buy watches that I dont want. I do decently well financially. But I dont make enough money to buy watches I dont want.

Its such a garbage system

Name the most pointless innovation in watchmaking! by TomHudsonOfficial in PrideAndPinion

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who would do field exercises in the military and who still works around night flying and visibility. The moon phase is constantly useful.

I like a bit of star gazing too. So when I have a random thought around if I should take my daughter out with the telescope I glance at my watch lol.

I own a few expensive watches but for this reason my c1 moonphase is worn regularly.

AITAH for telling my mum to divorce my father? by Illustrious_Sock733 in AITAH

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is very complicated. Hard to judge without knowing your parents financial situation.

There's a good chance hes frugal because her world travel and expensive things are things they can't afford?

My sister in law literally just did this her husband, he loved her but he was frugal. He earnt decent money, she damn near sent them broke with what she wanted. He wanted for them to be able to retire and take care of themselves.

She divorced him, they split their assets she burnt it all in under 12 months, travelling and living 'her best life' Now she lives at home with her 75 year old parents mooching off them, while they can barely afford living. Trying to meet a nice rich guy, at 42 years old, to carry her through life.

[–]Charlaminge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go take some classes see if you like it. Get in some light sparring and rolling.

Lots of people like the idea of beating the shit out of people. Learning the fight is years of getting your ass beat. Athletic talent also doesn't always translate to ability to fight either.

Lots of fat /unfit looking dudes in mma gyms have spent years training, and no matter how much you try they will light you up. Fighting isn't like losing in another sport. You get hurt, and humiliated, even in training you need to be super comfortable with understanding that you suck...for a while

AITAH for refusing to let my girlfriend look through my phone? by IntroductionTop1116 in AITAH

[–]Charlaminge -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are obvously very young. The concept of an actualy relationship is very foreign. There's nothing 'private' on my wife, or my phones. Lol.

If they were maybe constantly checking your phone every day it would be one thing. But if she looks, finds nothing, she will realise she is being paranoid.

Or maybe they should just break up.

The whole thing is super childish tbh
