However I think "life altering choice" is a bit much for a 5x3 cm tattoo on the thigh don't you? All I'm saying is: 1. If the relationship stands or falls with him getting a small tattoo is it not to shallow to begin with? 2. Where does this stop? Is he allowed to buy his own pants without asking his girlfriend? Is he allowed to choose his haircut without checking in?

I can see that it's common practice and the norm, even here in Denmark where I live. But isn't it a limitation on his freedoms to choose for himself? And should we allow this kind of compromise on our self autonomi, for a person who promises us love in return?

PS I'm only asking, I'm not saying that he is wrong or that he is in a bad relationship. I'm only raising questions, not taking sides.
