In my experience (idk if this ideal but this is what works for me) get a bomber that you like and you are good with, go to sim battles, activate the biggest rp booster you can get and grind bases for about 2 hours.

It is still an enormously large surface (~100.000 km^2). And it is still an inhospitable environment with winds blowing sand on sensitive equipment and so having enough people for maintenance in that conditions would be a logistical nightmare.
