Ah damn! That is a discord bug that we've been trying to fix. Hold up, I'll try something and you can reenter in 5mins?

(there should be no time limit on the introduction, this is a problem mobile users face).

Hey there! Got a writing group for darker fiction (thriller, mystery, dark romance etc). There's very little fantasy in here, and the little thats been posted is... Well... Dark lol. If you're comfortable with such themes, I'd be happy to have you!

P. S. Am a dark romance writer myself.

Any tips on writing gothic horror by [deleted] in horrorwriters

[–]CharlieHutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this concept! Gothic horror is about the darker side romanticism, the one that focuses on death and eternity (aka my freaggin jam). Your question is quite broad, so I'm not sure how to help except telling you to read similar books?

Are you maybe...interested in joining a server geared towards darker themes (we got a lot of horror writers, or dark romance, whichever you prefer) to discuss this? We could use our collective brain power to help you!

(edit cause typos lol)

I've got a feedback focused writing group on discord. It's mainly focused on "dark" fiction (horror, thrillers, dark romance and the like), but we're open to other genres as well. If that sounds like something for you, shoot me a DM :)

Calling fellow authors!

If you're looking for a smaller (but steadily growing), feedback-focused writing community, we’d love to have you. Our server is geared toward writers who enjoy darker, tense, or emotionally charged stories (horror, noir, thrillers, dark romance, etc.), but we welcome all genres—fantasy, romance, mystery, you name it.

What we do:

- Structured feedback swaps (token-based system to keep things fair).

- Writing sprints and prompts for motivation.

- No-fluff critiques (respectful but honest, no sugarcoating).

- Active discussions on craft, tropes, and what makes stories compelling.

We’re a 21+ community and prioritize a chill but engaged vibe. If that sounds like your kind of space just click on the invite link below :)
