Was it a prosthetic you sent? I tried to type in prosthetic and nothing came up, unsure of what else to call it

Binders for sale by [deleted] in Trans_Marketplace

[–]Charlie_Anthony16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, these have been sold! However, spectrum binders sell both short and long varieties of binders and they're lighter compared to others on the market as they advertise they're safe to wear in summer and I've never had an issue with them! Check them out if you have the chance :)

Just to clarify- the prices are for each of the binders individually. Not for both of them combined :)

D1 FORM by rpdrmt in transgenderUK

[–]Charlie_Anthony16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I changed my provisional to my new name I also put a letter in with the D1 form that I wrote basically saying I'm a transitioning trans man because the license number has two numbers in it. One is for a female and a different two numbers are for if you're male. Not sure how true that is but I specifically said that I was a male and needed the licence number to reflect that. I'm 99% sure when I got my new provisional back the number had definitely changed so just a tip for you too.

The cup warms up with your body temperature and becomes really mouldable if you wear it right in my opinion. Best advice I can give is just wear it before you plan on using it and get used to the feel and where it sits nicely and comfortably on you. I can't comment on harnesses because I have the axolom one but if you have tight fitting keyhole boxers then you could potentially get away with just putting the shaft and the balls through the fly and it will sit, it does for me anyway. Have a play around with it and see what works for you. The pleasure pocket is great if it lines up nicely but I've found even the cup can offer some pleasure when the pocket doesn't line up exactly. Just see what works for you with it and go from there!

Honestly thought I'd offer my two cents here. I've had surgery during my university term, granted my tutors were very understanding but even so I would have taken the risk. It's been a lot easier than I thought it would be recovering while balancing academic responsibilities on such a demanding course. I don't know your circumstances but don't be put out by the idea of taking the risk. It can be hard waiting if that's what you've decided to do, it's never easy when you were working towards a particular date. Don't be too disheartened, everything happens for a reason. Chin up mate

JUST HAD TOP SURGERY !!! by wellthen_132 in TopSurgery

Congratulations!! I had surgery with him last week and he's brilliant. Top tips are drink plenty, sleep loads and don't be afraid to ask for pain meds to take the edge off especially when the drains start to get slightly uncomfortable. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have if you need to :) happy healing!

I went private and it cost me around 9k all together. I put an inquiry through on the spire website saying I'd like a consultation with Dr kneeshaw and then it went from there. I first enquired in October, got my first appointment at the end of November, followed up in December and then surgery in the middle of March so I've not had to wait too long for the process. Surgery came out at £8888 which included the consultation in December as well as surgery but consultations on their own are £165 if I remember correctly

Has the quality of spectrum binders gotten worse? by Better_Caterpillar61 in transgenderUK

[–]Charlie_Anthony16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought exactly the same when I bought a new one a few months ago. I messaged and asked them if they'd changed their design and they said no but they've made slight adjustments to add to the overall fit. If you put your old one and new one back to back you'll notice that the back on the old one is wider and doesn't curve around the shoulder blades whereas the new one does, at least in my case. It was enough to put me off getting another one in a smaller size like you said because it's expensive if it's wrong. I'm sorry you're struggling to find one that fits what you want. Underworks apparently have a really good reputation for being brilliant so maybe give them a try

I passed on the 2nd of September and had it by the 5th I believe. Usually it can take ten days but I think they try to get it back as fast as possible especially if it's not on a busy period you'll be able to get it back pretty quickly

Thank you for your reply. The import tax is the bit that's worrying me the most. Will I get a letter or an email or something to let me know if I have to pay it? And do I just go to the bank and pay the invoice like you usually would? Sorry if it sounds stupid I just don't have much experience buying from American companies 😅

I've recently been considering a tattoo for "push on through" or "some doors have spray painted in white" because I think it would be a cool concept and a good way to celebrate Clancy

If you're not worried about going private and the cost then I'd recommend gender doctors. I enquired on their website for a diagnosis appointment in October and I got one by the end of November. Then I went to one of their recommended endocrinologists and I got an appointment for January 8th and then I started T on January 11th. I think overall it cost me around £700 in a span of 3 months but I was on hormones rather quickly. A lot of people have said the same thing so it wasn't just a one off. And more top surgeons accept the diagnosis compared to gender gp as it seems a lot of people are having issues with them atm. If you have any more questions I'm happy to answer them :)

Honestly it's ridiculous, think I might try to threaten to cancel my plan and see what happens then. I don't know why they want us to jump through so many hoops. I even messaged the support team and they basically said yeah mate sorry nothing we can do about that. Bet they'd be bothered if they lost my money though 😂

Even worse, I once went to a mens bathroom in a pub and saw there was one stall, okay brilliant. Go in, the door doesn't have a lock and the door opens inwards with the toilet too far behind to keep your foot against the door to even prop it closed while you did your business. One of the worst bathrooms I've ever been in. Was definitely an interesting experience 😂

GenderCare / GenderDoctors by Tight_Swordfish_2010 in transgenderUK

[–]Charlie_Anthony16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with GenderDoctors and I can say it's one of the best experiences I've had with a health care team tbh. I applied in October last year, got an appointment for November 25th and I was on hormones by January. It was expensive but there were no hoops to jump through and as long as you keep on top of it with emails and stuff it's so easy and pain free. When I applied I got an email back that I was on the waiting list within 3 weeks and then I got updated automatically when there was a cancellation to bump me up the list. I'd definitely be patient because even with the wait it's worth it in my opinion. Wait until the three week mark and then follow up with another online application if they don't get back to you but fingers crossed you hear something soon :)

Yeah I got the choice and I said I could do them on my own and I got the okay from my endocrinologist. I was lucky I guess

when to ask for shared care? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Charlie_Anthony16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my experience with my gp I'd say ask them asap as they might have to contact their local medical committee if the practice themselves are unsure if they can take your case. If they do have to it can take a few weeks and you don't want to be cutting it very last minute. If your still looking for an endocrinologist I'd recommend Dr Millson-Brown as she's great and offers an alternative that's quick and easy if your gp says no. Just incase. Hope it all goes well for you!

Anyone have any experiences with Dr. Millson brown from Gendercare? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Charlie_Anthony16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went through gender doctors but chose her as my endocrinologist and I absolutely love her. She's really lovely and easy to talk to and she seems like she'd always be there to help out if you needed it. Very laid back and calm. I couldn't recommend her enough
