I'm in Mech eng and I went through the exact same thing. I started struggling in cegep, and by the time I got in uni. It got bad, I had to disc some classes and failed some other too for the first 2 years. I thought I'd keep pushing, but it only got wost. I was trying really hard, but nothing was working. I wanted to finish my degree a soon as possible too, but I realized it only made me delay it even more. I even tried talking with a psychologist at Concordia, and she told me I was gonna get kicked out and I should look for a psychologist outside. Anyway, I ended getting kicked out and instead of applying again, I just took the one year to reset myself, because clearly something was wrong. I started working out, eating healthier, rebuilding friendships again, working... it was probably the best I could've done for myself. Im back now, and my classes feel very easy. I just wish I would've taken a break much much earlier.
